I live just north of the range in Milwaukee, haven’t seen any wild hops. If I run across some, ill gladly send you seeds. I wonder if Northern Promise hops have some pubensence in their DNA?

2nd year Shaddock (L) and Petoskey (R) both enormous, petoskey burrs starting to form cones near top, shaddock not far behind. Cascade looking nearly ripe ahead of everything else as usual.

I would imagine the smooth stems would be a problem due to them not being able to “grip” lines to climb like the rough hairs let them do

Have Shaddock and Petoskey year 2 coming in. Both produced like CRAZY last yr. Prussia were in containers and didn’t survive the winter. Just ordered Lawton to replace them, maybe “feral hops” can succeed where Prussia failed Yesterday Last year

Probably the diff is that second batch only dried out to 1.008 vs 1.002 for first

I moved up to WI last Oct, and sadly none of my hops (neomex or otherwise) survived the winter, so I had to start over with varieties better suited for midwest

Wait a few days and see if airlock is bubbling. If not, you can try just adding some yeast nutrients+energizer and a packet of EC1118 and it will probably start back up again.

Or you can save on cost and skip the shipping and do like “Cream of three crops” by adding Minute Rice to the mash
