quick question -- What tubing do you use for the Multi-temp III? I want to make sure to get something non-kink and then assuming you just connect it to a tri clamp barb? Thanks

    NYC beers

I agree with all of the above --- although a lot of these brands are seeing increased distribution and are easier to find elsewhere (throughout country in stores/bars etc.). That said for your buddy I recommend the following. Take the 7 Train one stop from Grand Central into Long Island City...

3-in-1 "Boil Kettle, Jacketed Chiller, Conical Fermenter" by Brewha

Sorry for the rookie question but with those wouldn't you need a separate cooler for the reservoir? This multitemp solution looks like the reservoir is built in so all contained with just one device vs. pumps and coolers etc.

3-in-1 "Boil Kettle, Jacketed Chiller, Conical Fermenter" by Brewha

Instead of a Glycol Chiller has anyone used one of these (Idea from Buck's Electric Brewery Thread) to control temperature? It looks like it can both heat/cool just using water but I'm sure there is a technicality/catch...

    Failure of Brewha BIAC

You hit the nail on the head with your second statement...... I read the facts in this thread and thought "no way - not for me." Pieced together that he was very receptive to questions so discussed the issues with him at length.... This forum has a wealth of information from so many...

    Failure of Brewha BIAC

Exactly. I figured my actions speaking louder than words would convey this - but happy to elaborate further real quick: - Obviously I feel for the guy who had the issue and am hoping never to be on the boards venting about one of my own. However, there are 2 sides to the story and I heard the...

Awesome -- and how noisy are those Process Chillers --- Was thinking about setting it up in my Apartment to regulate temperature so I don't have to keep the thermostat on all day but don't want to if it's pretty noisy. Thanks

What a cool project... So by the looks of it those Process chillers can control the temperatures in both directions (heat or chill depending on season)? Also do you control the temperature directly on the unit (simply just hook up the inputs/outputs) or do you have some sort of secondary...

    Man, I love Apfelwein

Crap... I think I might have bought some Apple Juice with preservatives in it. I used Whole Foods Organic Apple Juice. Thought, I would be alright (despite the fact that it is cloudier juice). I am 5 weeks into fermenting and just took a gravity reading at 1.016 tonight. I've been swirling the...

    Man, I love Apfelwein

Hello! I've read most of this thread and followed the directions perfectly. However, I am coming up on four weeks and I swirled the fermenter the other day to try and get the yeast to start working again. My problem was when I did this my fermenter bubbled quite a bit. I decided to take a...

First all grain, but not a big enough pot

Hey man... I'm in college too. For the price of two cases of crappy beer you can get one of these and brew up some delicious home brew. http://www.amazon.com/Bayou-Classic-3066A-30-Quart-Outdoor/dp/B0000BXHL0/ref=pd_bbs_6?ie=UTF8&s=home-garden&qid=1207082254&sr=8-6

I Blame you!! All of you!!

Started brewing about 2 months ago when I interviewed with someone who mentioned how easy home brewing was. Went out the next day and bought a starter kit... Read The Joy of Homebrewing in a week. Have since brewed up 8 batches of beer and am waiting on an Apfelwein (Thanks EdWort!). I'm...
