I've always kegged right after cold crashing, so the beer would be around 40 degrees when I hooked up the gas for carbing. If I keg the beer at room temp, should I let the beer cool down in the kegerator before hooking up the co2 to it?

Do you think straining would be a bad idea seeing as the grounds probably wouldn't make it to primary? Do the coffee grounds typically just settle out in primary and then you rack to secondary without the grounds coming along?

Thanks for all of the replies so far. I will have my replacement unit today, so I will get it all wired up and let you know what happens. Am I correct in the way I wired the neutrals or should I use one neutral connection on the plug like jekeane suggested?
