    Recipe Advice Cream Ale

I could see a late addition aroma hop playing very well in this kit. Vanilla itself? Nah. But an aroma hop would do it nicely, especially one with a citrus lean on it.

    Recipe Advice Cream Ale

I just brewed and kegged this kit as well. I brewed it with SWMBO and 100F days mowing the lawn in mind. She loves it. I love it. I would not enjoy vanilla in it. I don't think it would be appropriate after having had several pints of it without.

Major Foaming Issues...and have no solutions??? HELP!

That is another option, just decant this IPA into a pitcher and enjoy. Inspect the keg when it's empty. ;)

Is a Hefeweizen style beer ok to start with?

Sounds like the fermentation was just fast and furious, which would not surprise me for a Hefeweizen yeast at that temperature. You're probably okay. :)

Is a Hefeweizen style beer ok to start with?

Hefeweizen is the easiest beer for a home brewer to start with in my opinion. I've done a ton of different wheat styles since I started, and in my opinion they also smell the best while brewing! Here is my very easy Hefe recipe I came up with: (2.5 gallon boil size, 5 gallon batch size) 6lb...

Major Foaming Issues...and have no solutions??? HELP!

I'm not sure what is causing your issue, but I'm having great success with the following: 40F, 13PSI, 5' of 3/16, black plastic picnic faucets. I've kegged twice so far, and I haven't had any issues yet. :)

Fist time kegging a couple questions

I do the same thing. Fill keg with Starsan solution, seal it with some c02, shake the crap out of it, run some of it through the lines into a bucket, dump it, rack the beer into it, put 13psi on the keg, pull the relief valve 2 or 3 times, and start drinking in a week or two. :)

For people who have BeerSmith Software-Is it worth it?

I use it and would recommend it as well. I agree, it could use some updates, but it's not like barley, hops and yeast have changed all that much since it was released. ;)

    Giant nylon bag for BIAB?

My head just exploded a little bit, haha. That is also a very cool idea indeed. :)

    Giant nylon bag for BIAB?

Cool, I did some poking and found some large stuff, using the mesh wine bag as a search term. Any idea whether I would benefit from fine vs. course for BIAB? Cheers.

    Giant nylon bag for BIAB?

I wanna try my hand at all grain and I'm thinking BIAB would be a great solution for me. Thinking about picking up a 15 gallon King Kooker kettle with the interior removal basket (Seems like it would be handy for BIAB, also would keep the bag off the bottom of the kettle) and a burner to give...

    Some very lovely krausen

I always use a blowoff tube with my better bottles, and a very very small amount of Starsan in the bottom of a 750ml Belgian bottle to put the hose in. Specifically because it creates less back pressure on it. I also grab the hose and give it a lift to let any excess pressure vent out of it...

    Some very lovely krausen

It has perfect peaks. Did you make a starter in a cold copper bowl by any chance?

    Belgian Tripel - Blow Off?

I might add, I'd DEFINITELY use a blowoff for any yeast of a Belgian strain. All of my Belgians have been complete krausen monsters. ;)

    Belgian Tripel - Blow Off?

I use a blow off for every single batch I do. It's a rubber stopper, and a couple of feet of 1/2" hose, inserted into the mouth of a 750ml Belgian bottle 1/2 full of Starsan solution. Way too easy to not do it and I run no risk of repainting any of my rooms with sweet wort, lol. :)
