I'm positive it's co2. The other beers I used it on previously carbonated fine. I'm really wondering if co2 goes bad.

And the gauge shows 1000lbs of pressure.

Yes, gas escapes when I pull the pressure release valve. And I don't think the distributor I use for co2 offers beer gas.

I did some calculations and with the head and line length alone with GPM of my pump, it came out to around 4.5, so you're correct. Looks like I need a bigger pump.

Has anyone used this? I'd like to rig up my MLT with one to use as a sparge arm and to clean. I'm not sure my little chugger pump can handle it though. Any advice?

I just did an American strong ale with 37lbs of grain and jay bird false bottom...maxed it out. I could barely dip my paddle in it without overflowing. Lost about 5% efficiency.
