ok point taken. i tasted the wort yesterday and it tasted pretty good. cant wait for it to be drinkable. im gonna transfer it to the secondary tomorrow.
good to know about the distilled. wouldnt you want to put the strainer underneath the collander as to filter out the large chunks with the collander and the smaller chunks with the strainer.
also, i posted this question on another forum but didnt get a reply. is unflavored pectin a good...
san antonio has crappy water. after i boiled it there was a film of crap on top that i had to ladle off. oh well, maybe ill start using distilled water
i read that adding unflavored jeletin into the wort after placing it in the primary will help settle out more particles and result in a clearer, finer, beer. has anyone else heard of this?
Hi, im a beginner at the whole brewing thing (my first batch is in the primary) as i was making the batch two questions came to mind. first, i never read anywhere whether or not i needed to boil my tap water to sterilize it before adding it to my 2 gallon concentrated wort. do i need to do this...
im 2 days into my first batch also and i was wondering about that really sweet smell. good to know its fairly normal.
this is going to be a really long 4 weeks
