    Happy National Beer Day 2019

Wow! Had no idea it was NBD!!! Just brewed ‘cause the wife said to git. A lot of firsts: first brew in TN, new mash tun, new hot liquor tank and boiling pot, new burners, new fermenting freezer. Just a nice ESB, now happily bubbling away. Can’t wait to crack one in 3 or 4 wk.

It's so cute when SWMBO tries to do something nice, but...

I'm trying like hell to like the Mich & Bud "special" offerings, but most fall painfully short of drinkable, let alone good. The Porter is good, the P.A. & Irish Red drinkable, the Amber bock rates as Belly Wash at best. Most have the telltale AB yeast flavor. I'd rather drink Natty Light and...

    Something to ponder

I don't know if this was posted earlier, but it's something to ponder as the econcomy and LIFE AS WE KNOW IT head into the toilet. Not that I subscribe to G. Will's philosophy. Not that THAT's such a bad thing. I just hope the link works! (if not, cut & paste) My Dad sent me this with a few...

    Brew Kettle

Do a search right here! There are any number of threads concerning this very topic. Thank me later! Sully

    Yeast Preference

Don't you just love it when that first glass 'puur's? Just yankin' yur chain! I've used both successfully. Sully

    Let's talk digital scales

BierMuncher- Just keep that away from your keggles! Sully Edit- Another + for the Escali- compact, switch-able, tare feature, right price!

    Avoiding HSA

The one thing that really grabbed me in the Classic Beer Styles Series book 'Mild' was what was said about HSA- not an issue for HB'ers because the beer isn't kept for a great deal of time. I used to do a split boil and would pour the wort back and forth after sparging. I even wrote to Prof...

    First Beer Buzz

It was either Burgie (GREAT mascot- The Old Pro!) or my Dad's homebrew. Early to mid 50's, so the homebrewery was a bathtub in the basement, w/Blue Ribbon extract, and Red Star yeast. I was too little to remember, but everyone else does! My brother knew how to open the bottles so we had some...

    Now That's GOOD Service!!

Beerrific- Thanks for the heads up. Didn't take the time to figure that out. But, shouldn' t have had to! A 'suggested accessories' display showed me some options, and was enough. Maybe I'll give it anothr try. Thx again! Sully

    Now That's GOOD Service!!

I, on the other hand, am less than impressed w/ their 'service'. Tried to order a Shirron chiller, but when I got to check-out, there was a $15 backflush fitting added. Tried to investigate and/or remove it, but no luck! It was late, so I deleted everything and said $CREW IT! I then called to...

    Let's talk Brewer Baseball

BrewCrew- Time to bring Kremblas up from Nashville! 3 yr, 3 titles! He's the guy that sends the greenhorns up ready, for Yost to f-up. Quality, no BS type who might PO some spoiled vets, but would at least have them ready. And, he can manage his pitchers! Whdd'ya think? Sully

    Brew shed

B3410- I have a shop/ brewery/ garage bldg. (16x20 brew area). Water would have been nice, but prohibitive. Gas, ditto. But the elec. w/ perm A/C & heat, and insulation under sheetrock is awesome. In your climate, portable A/C & a ferm. freezer might make sense. Do you really need a heater...

    cleaning copper?

'I hear vinegar and water is good for LOTS of nasty things! ;-) Couldn't resist.

    Compact design.
