Puzzle: Volume<->Gravity calculation Beersmith vs reality

Thats true. Volume measured with a calibrated SS yardstick, SG - with ATC refractometer. But still to me its hard to explain to myself how can I get wrong readings with the same yardstick and the same refractometer. In any cases (exact numbers aside) and by plain logic: more (than calculated)...

I have BM20. And gasket looks like not stretched at all - it sits firmly when it is at room temp. May be it is loosening while hot - not sure.

    Brewferm Flemish Brown kit tweaks

Hi folks! Anyone tried to tweak Brewferm Flemish Brown kit (Brewferm beer kit Flemish Brown) in any way? According to instructions, this kit makes only 12L (abt 3 gal) batch. And I'd like to have something closer to 5 gallons/19L, cos my GF Conical fermenter has cooling sleeve at 15L-19L...

    Diluting MJ's cider pouch

Hi folks, I've made several batches using MJ's cider pouches and those turned out great (even their "sweet" variants). Now I'm looking for a "lower alcohol" summer drink (to be able to consume more at once), and got the idea to make MJ's pouch into roughly 10 gal (38L) of the water. "Normal"...

Big beer - small batch: keeping efficiency

What you would suggest then? Grain bill would be roughly 5 kg. Thicker mash + sparge as usual? Reiterated mash? Something else?
