Gonna try a Rye PA tomorrow. Started with a recipe posted on HBT thread 2/10 which I tweaked & made my own - Here's Mud In Your Rye PA - ohhhh... can't wait!!:tank:
Bottled the red ale today - dry hopped at secondary for 1 week - tasted great! Smooth & slightly hoppy. Gonna try Yuengling Clone Lager tomorrow before the game. GO PACK!!!
Still a NOOB myself Malibu - ain't no turning back. First 2 were pre-kits & this next is LHBS kit. Maybe experiment a bit in the future but for now the kits work for me. Taste my first Wednesday at 3 days in the bottle - slight carbonation & green flavor but GOOOOOD!

Got a batch of Brewers Best Red Ale in the pot right now - boiling wort smells like HEAVEN! Instructions say to steep grain in 2.5G - more water increases IBU. Does that mean an increase in ABV as well? I used 3G water/20min/162-165 deg F. Looks & smells wonderful!
Headed downstairs to bottle first batch - Trew Brew Pilsner - this AM. Plan to brew Brewer's Best Red Ale tomorrow, then try something non-kit next. Found an extract recipe for Poor Richard's Ale on a link from one of Revvy's posts. Anybody tried this? Sounds good - may try that next. So many...
You know Revvy, I've read several of your posts & you always seem to make sense. Just leave for a month? Should I check SG before priming/bottling (twice - 3 days apart suggested)? Bottle from spigot or siphon?
