Attaching tower to pin lock adapters? (probably dumb)

Yesterday I got (what I thought) were all the parts needed to finish my kegerator conversion. The tower I have terminates 3/16" tubing to what I would call a nozzle and nut adapter on the end, like a hose. I am using pin lock kegs and have adapters for them (these...

Kvass - All-Grain to PM conversion

Thanks! Appreciate the article as well. I still may end up going low on the hops or even splitting to 2 small batches and doing one of each. I had East End's Kvass both fresh and at 4 weeks, and loved the sour version. What temp should the bread yeast ferment at? I'm sure it says in the...

Kvass - All-Grain to PM conversion

Going to give East End Brewing's Kvass recipe (from BYO mag) a shot. My last few batches have been partial mashes which have gone quite well. Trying to convert this recipe to PM and could use a little help since the grain bill is so small. Orig recipe: 5.5lbs Pilsner malt 1.0 rye malt .5...

    Converting Kvass recipe to Partial-Mash

Ah, yes I just left that part out. I will also be adding 1 1/2 loaves of homemade rye bread, soaked in near boiling water for a few hours, then pureed. Also 2oz of caraway seeds and fermenting with dry bread yeast.

    WLP060 Sulphur

7 weeks ago, brewed an all-Citra APA using WLP060, recipe: This beer tasted GREAT all the way through gravity samples, kept in primary one month (@65F, then cold crashed 2 days @38F then bottled 3 weeks ago. Now, it has a sharp (eggy) sulfur taste, I know 060 has some lager in it and thats...

    Bottling Triple

Finally, tonight... Couple questions: Primary went from 1.082 > 1.018. Spent 6wks in secondary now down to 1.011, 9.5% ABV. Do I need to add more yeast before bottling, due to high ABV and time spent in secondary? Also, most priming sugar sites are saying 1.9-2.4 volume CO2 for a...

Couple ?'s: starter "life" and bottle aging

Oh I have 2-5gal secondary fermenters (one currently holding a 3wk old Tripel). Just wondered if it actually mattered if I moved the beer there or had them develop in bottles. I guess what pwnda said makes sense.

Couple ?'s: starter "life" and bottle aging

First, I planned on brewing an APA last week, and had a .75L starter all made and fermented. Real life came into play and I had to put off the brewing until tonight. The starter (WLP060) was kept in the fridge with an airlock for a week, until last night when I moved it into my fermentation...

    Partial Mash ahead of time?

Was going to brew an RIS tomorrow with a friend (so he can see/learn what brewing is about). My recipe involves doing a partial mash with some oats. Is it ok to do this ahead of time then let sit for a few hours (we have a flag football game) and come back and pickup where I left off doing some...
