    Priming sugar failed

Haha. Yup. Makes perfect sense. Thank you

    Priming sugar failed

Thanks! That's a huge relief. I was worried that half my batch was doomed to be flat. Which I could deal with if it was a porter or stout. But not a light ale like this one.

    Priming sugar failed

Just brewed my first batch in the new apartment. Less cabinet space than I'm used to. Normally I add priming sugar, bottle, and stick it all in a cabinet in the kitchen. Now I have smaller cabinets and a bigger fridge, so I ended putting half my batch in the cabinets, and half in the fridge. The...

    Concentrated Lemonade Flavoring?

Brewsday, that sounds like a great idea! That way I can control the flavor, and get some "mad scientist" fun out of this brew. Thanks for the suggestion.

    Concentrated Lemonade Flavoring?

Lemon juice I got. Any recommendations for amount? How much should I use to substitute 0.125oz of the flavor concentrate?

    Concentrated Lemonade Flavoring?

So I'm brewing a recipe that calls for .125 oz of Concentrated Lemonade Flavoring. It also says "your local home brew shop should have this." My local shop had no idea what I was talking about. Any ideas or suggestions for substitutions? It's basically for an extract cream ale recipe. 4 lbs...

    Pumpkin Spiced Ale

Just brewed up a batch last weekend from a recipe I found online. The guy claims it won him a local brew contest. Anyway, I followed his recipe exactly (though after reading these posts, I'm definitely going to prime with brown sugar) which doesn't mention anything about roasting the pumpkin. So...

Did my fermentaion quit on me?

Nice. Thanks for the help all. I guess what threw me was the sudden stop. On my previous brews, after a few days it slowed down, but it still kept going for a while. Like 1 bubble every 45-60 seconds, or even every 2 minutes after 10 days or so. But on this one, there was nothing by day 5 or 6...

Did my fermentaion quit on me?

Edit: recipe said ferment at 75 and it sometimes climbed to 80.

Did my fermentaion quit on me?

So I just brewed a 5 gallon batch of an English Mild Brown Ale. Got the recipe from my local brew shop, the last one they gave me came out great. So anyway. Started out fine. 24 hours after I pitched the yeast I had bubbles like crazy coming out of the airlock. A nice thick layer of foam on...

    Adding beano?

Hi all. So this will be my 5th brew. Still pretty new to this, and I need some voices of experience. My girlfriend is starting a diet, and she's watching carbs (not really calories) and I want her to be able to enjoy my next brew with me. I've got a recipe for a cream ale, and I'm told that...

    Bubble over with air lock

I'm in the process of my first brew, and it's doing the same thing. I setup a blowoff tube, and now that's all under control. But my concern is this: the recipe I'm using says that fermentation should be done in 4-6 days. I'm now on day 9, and still getting bubbles about every 3 seconds. Should...
