Blonde Ale Centennial Blonde (Simple 4% All Grain, 5 & 10 Gall)

For those of you who can WP, has anybody experimented with late additions for this recipe? I am thinking of doing a FWH and move all the other hop additions to 5, 0, and WP. Thoughts?

    Johnson Analog Controller Accuracy Question

Just use some packing tape and tape it to the side of the carboy/keg or whatever you need to keep cool. I have been using mine for 3 years and my fermentation temps stay within 1-2 degrees of what it is set at. I have checked it against my digital thermo and fermometer stuck on the carboy...

Show us your sculpture or brew rig

Well I can't say my stand was a complete DIY, since I ordered it from Marcus @PinupBrewery, but here it is. Pretty simple, but it does everything I need it to do.

Few questions for brew stand builders

Hey guys, I am in the final stages of building my single tier brew stand. Well I should say I am finishing building keggles, accessories, and mounting things on my brew stand purchased from Marcus. I have a few questions, which I am sure will help others with their builds as well. 1...

    Looking for Maibock Help

Thanks for the advice guys. I don't brew up a whole lot of lagers usually. Since I had a nice clean yeast cake, I figured I would brew up one more. I am going to try and find some Carahell from another vendor around here and add it to the bill.

    Looking for Maibock Help

I plan to brew my first Maibock at the end of the week. I just kegged a Vienna Lager and have washed my Wyeast 2308 cake and plan to use it for this batch. I've been trying to do as much research as possible, but it seems that recipes and information is a bit vague for this style. Here is...

    Stainless Thermowells

Ya I found that site, and they look pretty good. I also found these on ebay for a good price and cheap shipping: http://cgi.ebay.com/THERMOWELL-304ss-1-2-FPT-x-2-1-2-L-x-1-2-MTP-279ER21-/200520533079?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2eaff48457 I am going to be using this in a keg mash tun...

    Stainless Thermowells

Curios to know where you guys have purchased your stainless thermowells for the mash tun? I have found a couple sites offering them, but figured I would ask. What sizes did you end up going with, 2 1/2 or 4"? Thanks.

I collect 7.8 gallon and do a 90 min boil. I make my recipes for 6 gallons and end up with about 5.5 or so in my caboy.

10 Gallon Mash tun capacity question

With a ratio of 1.25-1.3 qts/lb, I usually max out with 23 lbs of grain with the lid on. Even with that amount, be careful putting your lid on, because some liquid will squeeze out. You can add a couple more pounds during the summer when its warmer and mash with the lid off. Hope this helps.
