More to it than I thought.

Some of you take this thread too seriously. Lol, it's a 67 page thread about a beginner brewer, obviously it's mostly irony, mockery and sarcasm. Yes I think it has some solidity but for the most part, it's a light-hearted discussion filled with farce.

http://www.midwestsupplies.com/bottle-seal-wax-beads-burgundy.html Usually your LHBS will sell it too if they have wine supplies. You could use like plain unscented candle sticks or other types of wax as well if you really wanted.

Missed Gravity again for the third straight time!! Any help appreciated!!

What's your post boil volume? If it's 5g, that's a 23% boil off rate, quite high. Are your boil off rates calculated correctly and in turn your strike and sparge water volumes? If your volume is high, you could be not boiling hard enough, which is fine as long as your boil off rate is...

You're welcome. The Mr. Beer kits could easily be the issue because of older LME. What volume boil are you doing?

Yes you can. What cap type originally came on it? A metal twist off or a metal screw off (hope the difference is clear). If it's the twist off, you should be able to use a regular top on a bench capper. If it's the screw off, I've seen where people reuse the cap multiple times and don't have...

Honestly, I did quite a few extract batches when I first started and none of them had that flavor. Not every extract brewer does; it usually has to do with process. Take a look at this article: https://www.love2brew.com/Articles.asp?ID=487 There are also quite a few other sources out there to...

    Belgian Blonde ale recipe critique

Plain table sugar is the same as doing the belgian candi sugar that he already has. The estimated ABV for the beer as he has it, is 7.2%. Plenty of alcohol and definitely fitting for the category of Belgian Strong Ale. Belgian blonds can be anywhere from 1.008 or 1.018 final so there is a...

Gonna start it off by guessing style. Saison?

    Used cornies or new torpedoes?

One of my LHBS carries the torpedos for $80. Needless to say, picked up 6 of em. They're actually quite great for just a little more than refurb cornies.

Lol, I figured you were looking for a reprieve. MrFeltimo can definitely go ahead and take this.

Just plugged all that into beersmith. You look good to go on quantities. I would say maybe sub flaked wheat for the half pound of white wheat, unless you just have the white wheat on hand and want to roll with it. You can also experiment with your hop varieties and hop schedule in the...
