I am making a %50-50 Germen Pils / German Wheat BW using WLP630. I plan to do a no boil mash and follow Michael Dawson's mash times. My question is, can I primary for the 3-6 months? I want to keep oxygen to a minimum so a secondary is out of the question. I either can keg or bottle.
What size flask do you use?
Do you think a computer fan setup has the power to vortex a 5L flask?
Do you think a 2inch stir bar would work on any size? 1L to 5L?
This is not for a one time use. I am looking to find out what I should buy.
Is 2000mL to small? is 4000mL to big?
Where is the best place to purchase these flasks?
I made a stirplate out of a computer fan. I am affraid that a 5L starter would be to much for it to handle.
I do mostly IPAs so far but am open to any type.
I guess my real question is home much to I need to save from a starter for the yeast to be viable next time?
My plan is to save on yeast by making a yeast starter and then splitting in half, pitch half and save half for the next batch.... What do you think if the best size flask? and where is the best place to purchase it?
I like the height ratio better on the concord, and the price. I haven't seen any complaints about this pot, or with the spike pot that look to be the exact same kettle.
Seem like a good price. Any one have one of these to atest to the quality of the pot?
The biggest draw of the concord pot was price vs quality. It has a reputation of high quality and a low price.
