Hey folks, Heading to Sacramento for a conference in May. I am toying with the idea of hanging around an extra day or two to do some hiking. Any recommendations for nice day hikes with an hour or two drive from the city? Suggestions welcome!

Good timing for me to stumble across this thread. Was bottling a batch last night, went to transfer into the bottling bucket, and my auto-siphon wouldn't work! It just pushed bubbles of air into the beer when I tried to rack it. I discovered that the little flapper at the bottom which closes...

I've used these on several occasions without any issues. By no means the norm but one more data point for the discussion.

I use it in my robust porter along with Nugget for bittering. I think it turns out well.

I experienced the exact same aroma from my dried first year Cascades: they smelled strongly of tea. I was going to use them in a robust Porter but decided against it since it is a competition entry. I dried mine on a window screen in my basement with a small fan blowing on them at its lowest...

18,535.5 + 5 gal robust porter = 18,540.5

1.25 oz dry from first year Cascade + 197.9 = 199.15

Road Warrior is :rockin: I also enjoy Great Lakes Rye of the Tiger...yum. Just bottled a rye APA using Briess's rye malt extract and a healthy helping of Nelson Sauvin. Turned out great.

Dry hopped my Rye APA with Nelson Sauvin. Gravity sample tasted great!

I regret not trying that beer when I visited Wynkoop. Ate some fried...kind of chewy, nothing to write home about.
