Co2 tank how big is too big?

You might want to check out Accurate Fire Equipment in Franklin Square. Seeing as how you're on Long Island, it will probably be closer. I got my 5# tank filled for $5 there.

    Bacon....Beer?

It's more likely than you might think. Bowling For Brews - Diner’s Journal Blog - NYTimes.com I don't know if it's worth it to have high hopes for this, but I can definitely say that I'm interested to try it.

    Looking to build a Keezer.

http://www.kelsoofbrooklyn.com I remember reading somewhere that they will sell 5 gallon kegs. It can't hurt to ask them. I can't say I've ever had any of their beer though, so I don't know how good it is. I'm probably moving to Manhattan within the next few months to be closer to school (I...

    Beginner observation about PET bottles

    Beginner observation about PET bottles

After reading some of this I guess I should consider myself lucky that I live in NYC. We can buy beer 24/7. Of course, most of places open late only sell the cheap macrobrews.

    *ANOTHER* broken floating thermometer thread

Yeah, the nylon bag could work. You might even be able to use a coffee filter.

    Getting rid of "Fermenter Funk"

    Split boil question...sort of

Alright, thanks guys I just wanted to see if it would even be worth it. I probably will end up doing a 4 gallon boil, I think my stove should be able to do it. I'm testing it right now.

    Split boil question...sort of

I've been reading around here for a bit, and I'm preparing to do my first brew. I have a Sierra Nevada Pale Ale clone kit from Midwest, and their starter equipment kit. I also have a 5 gallon pot to boil everything in. This is an extract kit but it comes with some grains that I put in for about...
