Have you tried any of Austin Home Brew Supply versions of Commercial Beers?
Ruination IPA from Stone (or just Stone IPA) gets high marks from those that have made it (I love the commercial stuff).
Rogue Imperial IPA sounds tasty too.
I brewed their AHS Promo American IPA and it was...
Sounds good. I tasted mine right after brew (from my hydrometer tube) and it was pretty good. Pretty aggressive honey flavor, but not too bad. I assume that will mellow over the processing time. I can't wait. I believe the real thing comes out Nov. 1, so I hope I can keep a few of mine...
I've never done this before. I wanted to make some cider for my wife (and me) and this recipe sounds pretty interesting. Do I do the following:
1. Mix apple juice, sugar, grated ginger root, and whole raisins together in fermenter (all room temp)
2. throw in tea bags
3. pitch yeast
4...
How long do you plan on letting this one sit in the secondary, and then bottle conditioning? I followed your recipe pretty close. I hope it tastes even half as good are the real thing!
Well I hope it is A, which could very well be. It was an extract kit and I put all the ingredients in so that eliminates b and c. Fermentation is going well so hopefully it is all good. Thanks for the response!
On an (un)related note, I brewed a pumpkin spice porter kit tonight. Everything seemed to go smoothly. Got it in the fermenter and grabbed some wort to test OG. It came in at 1.047 but the kit said 1.057 was target. Any thoughts on what happened?
I'm new to this but have used filtered water from the grocery store. Cost about $9 for the first 6 gallons, but I kept the jugs and refil them for about $0.39 per gallon so cost isn't bad.
