For Sale Free bottles - NJ/Philly

I've got 41 standard brown bottles up for grabs. Cleaned out but still have the labels on them. Had all the intentions of bottling from the keg, but that just never panned out... Location is Collingswood, NJ

I am actually pretty jealous. Sounds like you've got a good problem on your hands!

    Need help kicking the bottles

I like how there is a House Committee on Beer, sorry you were ousted as chair... If you all like seltzer water, you can always keep that on tap (possibly a pro for making one). If all debates lead down the same road, you could always start out a bit smaller. Buy an old mini-fridge and use...

Beer oxidized when bottled from keg

Trust me, that's usually the plan. But had to bring some for the family to try. Should just be more selfish next time.. haha

Beer oxidized when bottled from keg

I knew I forgot some info. An American IPA. Not NEIPA hop level, but a decent amount. There was definitely some foam. But I'm wondering if there was too much headspace. Maybe I'll just try to fill it as much as possible and then cap. Not much need for headspace, right?

Beer oxidized when bottled from keg

I have one of those nukatap counter pressure bottle fillers that attaches to a faucet on my keggeraror. Bottles are then sanitized and filled with the gizmo from the keg. I filled a few on Friday night. And on Saturday, it tastes stale already. I assume it's an oxidized flavor. I put a few...

    Purge keg with fermentation CO2

Yep, that is my plan for today's brew. Not sure if you dry hop this way. But do you just toss the hops in once sanitized and not worry about the hops in the residual sanitizer? Or rig a bag to hang from the lid somehow and drop it in later?

    Purge keg with fermentation CO2

It works well, as long as everything is sealed up nice and tight and your fermenter can handle a few psi I guess. Can get at least 2 kegs purged that way, goes quick at peak ferm. Issue with this is I still would have to open the first keg to dry hop it, defeating the purpose of fully purging...

    Purge keg with fermentation CO2

I think the idea is that it produces enough CO2 during fermentation that the attached keg's O2 ppm is small enough to be considered negligible. My current practice is to fill a keg with sanitizer and push it out with the ferm gas. I am trying to make it so I can dry hop without opening the...

    Purge keg with fermentation CO2

Appreciate the response. I remember seeing a post working out that info, and it must have been from doug. I didn't think it would be enough to purge 2 kegs, but worth crowdsourcing the answer. Probably not worth risking oxidation with trying to purge 2 at once. CO2 is probably one of the...

    Purge keg with fermentation CO2

Short question... If I connect the off-gas of my fermenter to an empty keg, will it produce enough CO2 to completely (within reason) replace all air with CO2? What about if I connect two kegs in series, will it be enough to flush both of them all of air? Longer story... Currently, I ferment in...

    Freezing packets of dried yeast

I keep mine in the freezer. Always works as anticipated. Also, the door is opened a lot less so there's no chance of it trying to warm up if it's open too long.

    DIY silicone seal for keezer

My girlfriend's father did this with a walk-in cooler he turned into a smoker. It's inside his barn and vents outdoors so I assume it holds well. From what I remember he put a bead of silicone around the rim, placed plastic wrap on it, and closed the door to wait for it to dry.
