    iSpindle - DIY Electronic Hydrometer

I did the same, and I have to ask: Is it really electrically necessary to remove the Wemos diode? I mean if you're using pin headers and can separate the Wemos from the charging shield, then just avoid connecting a USB cable to the Wemos unless separated. That would simplify future USB flashing...

Thanks for the confirmation. I think I may go with this sled design....a one piece mod of the mwx sled. https://hobbybrauer.de/forum/viewtopic.php?p=269959#p269959

Since I can't find it mentioned anywhere, what model of JST fits the @Mikmonken PCB best? Is it JST XH? All I know is that the spacing is 2.54mm. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/10-Sets-Mini-Micro-2-Pin-JST-XH-Connector-Plug-2-54mm-With-24AWG-Wires-Cables/32840385771.html

I haven't analyzed the power circuitry all that much, but the VDD minimum of the ESP-12F (ESP8266MOD) is 3.0V. So, even though an NCR18650B for example can go as low as 2.5V, I don't think you'd want to chance running the D1 that low anyway. For reference, the kit available here moved to a 390...

After enough reading, I share your concern. I have 330 ohm resistors on hand and can pick up 390 ohm at a local shop, but BAT43 I would have to order in. I'm about to build five of these and with the charging circuit covering the resistor holes, I'd like to get it right the first time. EDIT: I...

May I ask what model of D1 Mini you chose to run inside stainless? I don't want to run into any low signal issues, but also don't want a model that requires a U.FL antenna unless necessary. Cheers!

BrewPi@ESP8266, no need of RPI and Arduino.

Maybe better terminology is a "return to center" toggle switch. It's the same as two buttons in a single package. Here are a couple interesting examples: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/mini-rocker-switch-momentary-3pins-rocker-switch-ON-OFF-ON-spring-return/32681431549.html...

Could "set" be based on a timeout instead? If you were to use a SPDT momentary toggle switch you wouldn't be able to activate both "buttons" simultaneously.

Has anyone besides @mr_birra_olanda ordered from this shop? http://geoversand24.de/shop/en/xl-preform-15-cm-x-5-cm-306 It's a much better deal than eBay and I'm hoping to have several shipped to Canada. Just curious about the fit.

I like your optimism @day_trippr, but your post made me dig a little deeper into the subject of inductive loads. I have two 4.4cu.ft. Danby fridges. Fermentation: DWC044BLP-3, Rated Current: 1.8A, Compressor LRA: 9.6 Kegerator: DAR446BSL-6, Rated Current: 1.3A, Compressor LRA: 6.5 Considering...

My ferm fridge Ranco controller gave up the ghost the other day and my research for a connected device has lead me here. So happy I found this project, it looks fantastic! Hardware wise, is this a good buy? I figure the inductive load model would be the best match for a refrigerator...

monster old kombucha -- still safe to drink

I have the same question with regards to using an old SCOBY. The only difference being that yours appears to be in a sealed jar. Ours has been in a dark closet for the past 6 months with just a handkerchief covering the jar. My wife and I took a break from brewing approx 6 months ago and left...

    "Racetrack" Style Cornies?

Just found this reference page illustrating all the different transfer kegs. As per one of the diagrams and several part descriptions the gas side dip tube is actually a liquid level indicator. The bottom of the tube is the 18L fill line. So for those of you asking if it's actually...
