Are there any issues associated with bottling after cold crashing? Do you bottle with cold beer, or do you let the beer return to room temp. prior to bottling?
Thanks for your reply--sounds like good advice. I wondered about the secondary. Made a pretty healthy looking starter. Pitched yesterday and was going great guns by nighttime, room is at a very steady 68. Already slowing down after about 30 hours. I'll try to get it kegged by day 10 so it...
I've brewed a Dunkelweizen that I would like to have for the Superbowl. That is two weeks from the brewdate. My plan is to leave in primary for 13 days, keg and force carbonate (and hope for the best). I could move to secondary in a week, but don't know if I should with a dunkelweizen (or if...
Is is possible to prime as if for bottling, bottle a few, keg the rest, let it carbonate in the keg then dispense under lower pressure. I know i'd get sediment in the beer...

Put...
I tried to attach an image. I transferred to secondary, do the white spots look normal (residual yeast activity) or more like an infection? I'm a newbie--I don't know what to look for. The white smoky looking stuff is just camera flash.
I used white labs California Ale. I asked the local homebrew shop if I needed to do anything special--he just told me to leave it on the counter during the boil (a little more than an hour) and pitch when the wort was cool. It looked like absolutely lifeless this morning. Next time I'll give...
