    Is this infected?

    I had the same exact thing in my first brew that was an IPA. These showed up shortly after I transferred to secondary. It has been about a week and they are almost completely gone. Definitely yeast rafts from all that I have seen and read. You should have some great beer.

    Lemon peel

    Any suggestions for how much to use for a 5 gallon batch. I just want some hints of orange and lemon.

    So this recipe calls for bitter orange peel which I got from my LHBS and lemon peel. They did not have any lemon peel. Can I just buy a lemon and throw the peel in? Is it that simple or do I need the dried lemon peel? Any help would be great. Thanks.

    Summertime Ale

    I am making something similar to the brewers best summertime ale. I am using safale us-05 yeast. Should I do a yeast starter? I have heard this type of yeast really doesn't need it. Also I got one 11.5 gram packet. Is this enough for a 5 gallon batch?

    First Brew Into Secondary

    Primary for 9 days. No I left all the trub. Just siphoned off the liquid. There was a ton of trub when I washed the bucket out.

    Yeah I think you are right but when I added my water after boil I don't think I added enough. It's at about 4 1/2 gallons. Live and learn I guess.

    Just transferred my first brew (IPA) into secondary. Smells amazing. Didn't taste it but will probably try a little while bottling. It is still pretty cloudy but hoping it will settle out. Let me know what you think.
