    S'mores Mead

Marshmallow root! I wouldn't have an idea as to quantities as I've just learned this researching your question on google. Graham crackers? That's the tough one :)

How to Isolate Yeast from Honey

Question monsuier: "if you are really into wild ferments, you can pitch at this stage..."- Pitch with the mold on top? Or skim and pitch? I'm trying to inoculate some "sour cultures" out of the bottom of a comercial brew. I've been waiting for my cake to develop, have plenty of nasties up top...

    Mead starter

You may want to seek the advice of wild_mazer, he is a member here, find a post and message him if he doesn't see your thread. To my my understanding he works with wild ferments often and I have recieved great advice from him too!

    Brew day 4/30/16

Bochet was racked 14 days ago onto 2-3 lbs tangelos, and racked off today. Tasted wonderful, will stay here for a month and a half with one of those weeks on oak. Ramona semi sweet racked to secondary, no tastes or test right now, topped with honey water. I also mashed the tangelos after racking...

    First Mead In the Fermenter

I don't think a week or two will hurt at all, I would suspect most of the yeast would still be alive rather than dead and imparting. Unless further fermentation during that time counts as harm, I believe you're in the clear!

    Bottling Time

Did you use a familiar strain jack? I have a gallon similar to your experience here but I'm wondering if the 1116 didn't like the environment and didn't attenuate as expected. Gravity readings were behind schedule compared to other recipes I pitched it too, but still aggressive. Now the yeast...

    Bottling Time

Didn't think of the expended yeast factor, Good point doctor! Perhaps we could cold crash and use a clearing agent to slim down that possibility in the event that we have no space to accommodate patience. We are still looking at another week before the bentonite drops, but again deter the...

    Bottling Time

I bottled a jaom inspired recipe recently and am saving one bottle for conditioning, but I have no proper long term storage. So for now I'm kinda stuck bottling as soon as possible and drinking or gifting asap too.

    Bottling Time

From what I've gathered bulk aging and bottle aging is a fickle argument with great points to both methods. I'd say if it were mine, I would bottle it and be making room for mixing! As long as they are bombs eh?! :)

Do you sulfite mead (cyser) when you bottle?

now when speaking of sulfites, are we discussing the use of campden tabs?

    First Mead In the Fermenter

mow much did it cost you to startup the pure o2 lines to the air stones? ive been wanting to make this setup available to me as I'm tired of shaking or stirring to make a mess. is this as simple as buying a tank and line and bleeding a small amount through the line or are you using...
