    Just planted some barley

You can see that each row has to distinct rows within it. That was caused by my planting technique. I haven't had good luck in the past with just spreading seed and raking it in, so I went a different route. Using a hoe, I basically pull a layer of soil from one half of the row to the other...

    Just planted some barley

There was supposed to be a picture with that. Let's see if it works this time. Ah, it was too big of a file. Here we go.

    Just planted some barley

The 4 rows on the right side are the barley. The 2 rows on the left are wheat. Growing pretty well so far, with the rain we've had recently. There are sprinklers set up with a timer when I need them.

    Just planted some barley

Well, I just planted about 400 square feet with UC Tahoe Malting barley from Hearne Seed. I've grown barley before, but this is about 4 times as much as the last time I tried it. This is also a little earlier than I was able to plant before. Although, I still wish I had been able to plant 2 or...

    Bulk hops storage.

Here's a link to the regular lid size version of the attachment. I use mine with a handheld foodsaver. FoodSaver T03-0006-02P Regular-Mouth Jar Sealer https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0000CFFS6/?tag=skimlinks_replacement-20

    Bulk hops storage.

That is definitely more hops than I keep on hand. I don't do a lot of hop-heavy styles, though. I'll do an IPA once in a while, but it's not the bulk of my brewing.

Using a Blended Yeast over Several Generations

I don't have answers for your questions. But I'm just confused why they would blend such neutral yeasts. Was it a purposeful decision? If so, did they do it because of attenuation issues once upon a time and just like the results so they continued the technique?

Maybe the ABInBev haters can let up

Wow, thanks for noting that Oskar Blues (and who knows, maybe more breweries) is donating canned water as well. I can't believe it took 5 pages before somebody noted this. I read it the other day. Also, there is a Michigan company that has donated (in conjunction with Wal-Mart) kayaks and other...

    Bulk hops storage.

I use a hand held vacuum sealer with a mason jar adapter. Keep the hops in the jars. It's worked well for me. Had some hops sit for a couple years and come out smelling awesome and working well in beers.

best DRY yeast for a NEIPA?

I love BRY-97 and just used it in an IPA I bottled up the other day. But it drops clearer than you may want for a NEIPA. Do I remember correctly that one of the yeast companies recently released a new one that people assumed was a Kölsch yeast? That might be a good option.

Local brewery allows employees to smoke while brewing...

This is the kind of thing that doesn't need to be a big deal in order to decide not to allow it. Is it likely to harm a lot of people? Nope. Is it the best, cleanest, and safest way to do things? Sure isn't. And it blows me away how offended people get when they notice others trying to improve...

    Oat Wine - feedback please

This batch has almost run dry. I've tried to savor it and keep some around to let it age a bit, but it was just too good and I've drunk up most of it. :tank: Might be time to re-brew it. :rockin:

Legacy hops In a wheat beer

I love Legacy hops. My favorite pale ale I've ever made was all Legacy. I think it would work really well in a wheat beer.

Am I missing something with my simplistic hopping ways?

I'm sorry, I haven't been that active on here lately. I forgot that people take everything personally instead of thinking about the content of posts. :mug::tank:
