    Morebeer or Austin Homebrew?

I have to agree with the previous posts and back to the reason why I posted this question in the first place..... I have ordered a few kits from Morebeer and although the beer isn't finished yet, the samples were great. But, I ordered a few more kits recently, and it took them quite a few...

How do I clean this Better Bottle?

I have tried the dish cloth method and it didn't work....I have to use a carboy brush....is this bad? How does everyone else do it? I looked at the better bottle website but they aren't specific on the type of soap to use. Also, can you rinse these things out with hot water?

How do I clean this Better Bottle?

I use better bottles for primary and end up putting a drop of dishsoap, some baking soda, then starsan in, then rising them a million times out with water. Is there a better way to clean these things? It seems to take too long for me. I would rather not buy any other non-household cleaners...

To secondary or not to secondary?

I ask this question because I see that a lot of you leave in primary for four weeks or so but I read in John Palmer's How to Brew that: "Leaving the post-primary beer on the trub and yeast cake for too long (more than about three weeks) will tend to result in soapy flavors becoming evident...

To secondary or not to secondary?

My current routine is to leave in primary for around two weeks, then two weeks in secondary. Is moving to secondary even necessary or better? I do secondaries because I was told of them, but I really do not know the benefits other than clearing the beer from moving to one fermenting carboy to...

    Cheap surface drip tray?

OK so I saw the other posts on this subject, namely the 19 inch one for 15 bucks, but that will not fit in my fridge where my tap is located. Anyone have suggestions? I like the idea of using a floor register but what would be the easiest/cheapest metal box to place it in?

    Brown Porter with added coffee

So after trying a fantastic brown porter at a local brewpub (Long Valley) I was told they add coffee to the porter to give it that nice roasted taste. I have a brown porter extract kit from morebeer.com and was wondering if anyone had suggestions about adding coffee (how much, when to add...

    Need airlock for secondary?

So I'd like to start a batch today but I would need to borrow the airlock from one of my secondaries I just placed (its in a bucket) after 8 days in primary. I looked at the airlock a good few minutes and theres no activity. Could I just cover the hole of the secondary for a few days until I...

    Max Primary Fermentation?

I thought I saw this question posted before, but I couldn't find it. So since its a rainy day, I would like to brew beer, (lager and an ale) however if I started today, I wouldn't be able to move to secondary for about 2 weeks. Is this ok? Will any bad flavors develop in the beer? Also...

    Do you lager Pilsners?

Like the title says, do you lager pilsners? I have read that lagering reduces fruity tastes in the beer.....my last batch of czech pilsner turned out a bit fruity and I'm wondering is this something I could have avoided by keeping the beer cold in secondary? I have another pilsner in primary...

Head but no carbonation - kegging

Yes I do....What should be my next move? What should I set my psi for and for how long?

Head but no carbonation - kegging

So I'm pretty sure I know the answer to this but figured I would check here. The head on my beer is large but there is little to no carbonation in my beer. I kegged my beer, put it to 20 psi 3 times and let the pressure out each time. Then put the kegs in my fridge overnight at 15 psi...
