For some reason all the 220v systems went to the Cali location first. Subsequent shipments should be distributed to both locations at MB.

    Beersmith 3 Water additions accuracy?

Also posted on Beersmith Forum New to water additions, I am comparing BS3 to BRU'n Water v5.5. They are WAY off from each other. So as a new guy to water additions, which one do I trust? (This happened on several different water profiles) I do know that BS3 does not have all the additions that...

    Question about Beersmith instructions

No, it's telling you to sparge with two steps .33 gal and 3.36 gallons for a total of 3.69 gallons. Your total sparge water for the numbers that you posted in your screen shot is 3.69 gallons for a SINGLE sparge. If you want to do a double batch sparge, take that 3.69 and divide by 2. That would...

Double IPA Black Out Rye IIPA

This beer was a real sleeper, good hop profile and malty sweetness. People drink it and think its low alcohol and then it hits them. Let me know how it turns out with those hops.

    Bottling setup

When I bottle, I take all my bottles that I am going to use and put them in the dishwasher that I have in the beer cave, just a small amount of soap, and about a 1/4 cup of distilled vinegar. When the wash is done, I pull them out and tin foil the tops, of close the flip tops closed. The...

    CO2 & Keg lost pressure

Setting up a kegging, leak free system takes some effort but will be bullet proof at the end. 1) Make sure that all lines are tight by checking them underwater (do not put your regulator in water) 2) If you have a manifold, check that underwater as well. 3) Use a leak detection fluid (water +...

    Suck Back Into Carboy

I had about a 1/2 gallon of suckback of Star-San into a 5 gallon pale ale batch. No off flavors, no smells, nothing funky about it at all. Friends didnt even notice it, and when I told them about it they were shocked that they couldnt taste it. You will be fine.
