American IPA Rogue Santa's Private Reserve Clone

Just brewed up another batch of this gem tonight. Love when a clone tastes even better than the original.

    Pliny the Elder recipe questions

this beast is still a bubbling after five days since pitching. i haven't experienced this before. can't wait to try it. I will say, for anyone who has used dried full hops before in a recipe and decide to do the same with this one, make sure to use a bag for the hops or have a false...

    pliney the elder clone

I am doing a 10G batch, do I double the hop additions or do the scale up differently?

American IPA Rogue Santa's Private Reserve Clone

Just bottled 8 days ago. Taste is spot on. Mine is slightly cloudier (higher filled glass) but color looks good. Thanks again for the recipe!

British Brown Ale Nut Brown AG

I brewed this last week with only a minor modification to the original with substitutions of crystal 60 with 20 and the yeast brand. my LHBS was out of both. Can't remember the name of the other English ale yeast but the owner told me it was similar and should work fine. this is my first usage...

    Father of the Year Award

Ha!! Love it. Yea I had my daughter getting daddy some of "daddies juice" out of the bottom of the fridge at an early age. Hopefully we teach them moderation and responsibility when it comes to our craft.

    Father of the Year Award

I swear this wasn't a setup. I drank my last bottle of my Stone IPA Clone (delicious btw) last night and rinsed out the bottle and threw it on the "bottle drying rack" without thinking. I looked over and had to snap a pic. Has anyone else had one of those moments where parenting and beer...

Specialty IPA: Black IPA Darth Vader - Black IPA

I dry hop with one week left before bottling. I bottled this brew two weeks ago and cracked open a bottle a week early to see how it was goin. Amazing brew. Definitely my best finished product AG thus far. Simple recipe but has a great all around balance of malty sweetness and enough...

Specialty IPA: Black IPA Darth Vader - Black IPA

Just made this recipe last night! I was impressed that my LHBS had every ingredient on the list as well. Tried out a new home made counter flow cooler. It was only 25ft long and used only fresh tap water to cool. Brought it down from near boiling to 91 degrees with one gravity fed pass. We...

What I did for beer today

Exchanged a dozen 500ml bottles for 1L bottles at my LHBS. They didn't have 750ml yesterday so bought the 500s. Then when I got them home I realize how small 16oz is. I dry hopped my first AG Homebrew on Saturday and getting ready to bottle this weekend.

American IPA Dogfish Head 60 Minute Clone (AG) & Extract

awesome! thanks everyone. Putting in another container for a week seemed pointless and risked introducing more brain eating amoebas.

American IPA Dogfish Head 60 Minute Clone (AG) & Extract

So forget about the secondary? I will keep bottle after 5-7 days of dry-hoping. Thanks

American IPA Dogfish Head 60 Minute Clone (AG) & Extract

I am ten days into my first AG brew with this recipe. I made around a 5g batch. My cousin is telling me to dry hop right into the current carboy, trub and all. Is secondary really necessary? Am I opening a whole other debate/thread? I have another 5g glass carboy if everyone thinks a...
