Is there anything you can subsitute for rice syrup. I'm new to brewing but from what I have read it lightens and has no taste. Could you use say if the recipe calls for 1 pound of rice syrup , use a 1/4 pound of cane or corn sugar instead. I know you can ferment just sugar and water and this...

Brewed my first beer from a John Bull kit, export pilsner turned out pretty good. i think I could get into this making your own beer, only time will tell.
