I appreciate your concern and I too am against Drunk Driving... but I am not against nursing a quality beer (or maybe two) over a 3 hour road trip. Aside from the open container I would probablly be under the legal BAC designated by the state.

also it depends on which state your in... I know that in Louisiana you can have a cup of booze (a daiquiri) in your car as long as it has a plastic top on it and the straw has not penetrated the plastic lid... oh and I think the cop will be more interested in the left hand milk stout (opened)...
