I've noticed that there have been a number of posts about elements going missing, scripts being lost, and/or even unintended consequeses from naming conventions in elements that were later picked up in scripts. This causes a lot of time being spent on searching for items or trying to debug. I...
Well thanks for that--that cleared up throwing an error when it ran.
My problem now is getting it out of node-red and into Brucontrol.
I slimmed down everything to the "Beer Name" for testing and can email you or anyone else the flow as it won't let me attach that kind of file here.
What I...
Hi Joe,
My node-red import of brewsmith3 recipe.xml, based on your excelent scripting, died with my windows machine a few years back. Recently,I had the time to go back to it and recover my flows from the backup and was delighted that it still worked as before.
However, wanting to try all the...
Thank you for this beautiful schematic. My only concern is that some of the pin numbers/wire colors and their functions do not correspond to the IFM6004 manual. As in the drawing below, pin 1 is brown and UB+, but Pin 2 is white and is the signal for volume, pin 3 is blue and goes to UB- and pin...
Since I posted this, I found the Surface Go 2 for $400 which comes with Windows 10 and should run Brucontrol with no problems (https://www.amazon.com/NEW-Microsoft-Surface-Go-Touch-Screen/dp/B086QRQVD5) which I'm now leaning towards. But the thinkcentre M700 crane recommends combined with a...
So the surface pro 4 (SP4) I was using to run brucontrol just had had the battery swell to the point that the screen delaminated. Obviously I'm in the market for something to run brucontrol on (microsoft offered to replace the device for $450). Of all the options you have listed so far is there...
Usually wifi is much better than Bluetooth in transmitting through stainless. I have spike and ss brewtech fermentors and have had no problems. Having said that, I have a wifi AP in the same area. So it will depend on the strength of your wifi signal as to the reliability. Hope that helps.
FYI, I did an over-the-air firmware update with a 6.3.1 firmware iSpindel I had already programmed. I used the brucontrol firmware from the download above. Everything seemed to go as it was supposed to and I could select brucontrol as the service type and fill in all the necessary fields. When...
For anyone that purchased a mega 2560 and an arduino ethernet shield for testing and then later wanted to implement these two devices in a screw-terminal block, other than the excellent brucontrol UM-1 solution, I found someone outside Boston who manufactures screw shields that addresses this...
For what it is worth, I've developed a couple of strategies to get iSpindel to work with Brucontrol and I really don't think reflashing their firmware is the easiest way to accomplish this. iSpindel already broadcasts in html every 15 minutes or so (you can make this more frequent but it is...
I'm assuming your suggestion refers to the way to solve the overall problem and not a way to add in-line quote marks where I need them. If so, yes that works, as I wrote a script yesterday for FV1. It is a relativly lot of work to script it--not undoable--just kind of a brute force find and...
OK, based on the quick success in getting my last query answered, here is another question about Brucontrol scripting that I can't seem to find the answer to:
I'm bringing in the data from 4 iSpindel hydrometers through node red into Brucontrol Data Exchange and storing the data in individual...
Thanks so much. I had forgotten to uncomment my second "endif" statement in all my iterations of the script. Because if wasn't ending it just kept plowing on ahead when I stepped through the script. It would be nice to have a Brucontrol "cookbook" that goes into more detail about how to approach...
This is probably so simple that I will be embarrassed, but I can't figure out how you do an "if..and..else" statement in Brucontrol. So what I want to say is if x is true and y is also true then do something, otherwise (else) do something else.
Could someone please help me out?
