Traveling for 2 months, brewing advice

24 days is long enough to bottle for your first batch. Bring the bottles with you to your new place. Same for your second question, depending on how long you'll be traveling. But if you bottle just before you leave, the beer will be fine.

RDWHABH Relax, Don't Worry, Have A Brew at Home Although Papazian does allow for commercial substitutes when Homebrew is not available. It's in the beginner's section.

    Almost Full Boil

Thanks for the information. The hop utilization chart is interesting... I always thought that flavor/aroma peeked in 2-10 minutes. SO much to learn... I will have to try fermcap and I like your suggestion about splitting it up into two pots. Sounds like a good chore for the little ones...

    Advice on Planning Fermentation Time.

I can relate. I just brewed my first stout and the wife and I are having some right now. She's a believer. I am in like Flynn.:mug:

I have been reading the Papazian book (Complete Joy of Homebrewing) and that is about the extent of my knowledge, other than the little bit I've picked up here and at homebrew supply...

    Hello from Charlotte, NC!

Thank you razyrsharpe, it's good to be here! I was pretty proud of myself last night for having made two batches in only a few weeks time, thinking that I had it all figured out, then I started reading some of the FAQ's and recommended threads here and was reminded that I don't know anything...

    Hello from Charlotte, NC!

Thank you! I drive through Durham whenever we go home to NoVA to visit family. To answer your question, a friend of mine used the name "Scoop Jackson" one time when he was nearly busted skipping school by an administrator. He told the guy chasing him that his name was Scoop Jackson and for...

    Hello from Charlotte, NC!

Hello fellow Homebrewers! I am a novice yet, but I just finished my third batch and my first since moving to Charlotte nearly 3 years ago. Technically it shouldn't be ready for a few more days, but I just had to break one out and now I remember why I love homebrewing so much!!! I brewed a Cherry...
