7 segment display wiring to bcs-460

Brewershardware is going to care them, I think they are in the process of having them made. You might want to give them a call to see about an ETA.

Beersmith only saves when I exit out.

I believe BeerSmith only writes back to the bsmx files when you exit the program. So your changes are in memory until you exit. This should only be a problem if you’re trying to access the same BeerSmith files from two clients. If that’s the case then you would need to make your...

7 segment display wiring to bcs-460

Only three wires are connected to the BCS, two Exp wires and one ground. Pin1 (SDA) connects to Exp1 and Pin2 (SCL) connects to Exp0 on the BCS. These are the brown and green wires in the pic. Pin4 and 5 go to a 12v wall wart power supply, the red and black wires. Pin3 the middle pin is not...

Best way to wire indoor BCS to outside brew rig?

If you plan on doing more automation in the future then I would recommend just getting the controller you think you'll eventually end up with. Even if you think it may be underutilized at first, you'll at least gain some experience that will help you when you plan to further automate. Plus, I...

Best way to wire indoor BCS to outside brew rig?

I guess mine is setup more like your option 2 but I’m not sure what you mean by “sort of loses some of the advantages of the BCS in this limited automation set up”. I have my BCS in a control box with three SSR's, two for fermentation and one for Keezer control. I installed some keystone...

Which pump to get? (March, LG, Chugger)

I used two of the March 809 pumps with the plastic heads for a couple years and have no problems at all. With my system I have a few valves and connections that add weight to the heads and my pumps are mounted low so I always worried about breaking one during a brew day. A couple months...

anyone tried this? sanke keg fermenter idea

If cheap is what your after you can get three 6 gallon buckets for $24, I've done it like that for years. I don't want to get into a debate about plastic vs. stainless but obviously stainless is always going to be more expensive. Compared to other 10 gallon stainless fermenter options using a...

anyone tried this? sanke keg fermenter idea

Use a regular Sanke keg and one of these. http://www.brewershardware.com/Sanke-Fermenter-Kits/ I know several people that use them and they work great. Just clean them with a DIY carboy washer and push the beer out with C02.

Nice job lehr. Have you had a chance to fire up your burners yet. I’m curious because I did a similar design a while back and had a hard time getting the burner exhaust out. It was choking the flame once the kettle was on.

    Kegerator/Fermentation Chamber

Yeah, I've seen that when I was looking around myself, very interesting. I found a couple of other links where they're using fans to push air. Here they are in case you hadn't seen them yet. https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f51/wanted-info-keezer-side-fermentation-chamber-134679/...

    Kegerator/Fermentation Chamber

I was actually thinking about doing something similar. My fermentation chamber is under my work bench about 6 inches away from my Keezer. I was thinking about connecting the two with a 4" hose and using a fan (perhaps thru a 4" hole in the collar) to blow cold air from the Keezer to the...
