Fermentrack: Fermentation monitoring & BrewPi-www Replacement for Raspberry Pi

Absolutely! Happy to test when it's available - I'll keep an eye out here and the relevant Github for the update.

Fermentrack: Fermentation monitoring & BrewPi-www Replacement for Raspberry Pi

Seeing as I didn't have an Rpi but do happen to have an ESXi host, I decided to install Raspberry Pi Desktop as a VM about 6-8 months ago. It’s been running flawlessly for me since then - HUGE thanks to @Thorrak and everyone who's contributed to this awesome project! Recently had a friend gain...

How to add permanent volume markings to a kettle (illustrated)

Completed mine this morning. Found directions elsewhere, and didn't read the entire thread here, so I'm sure some of my observations have probably already been noted. Used a 9 volt battery and a fairly heavy salt to vinegar solution (sorry, didn't measure, just kept adding salt until my test...

    Auber NC switch blocks?

Yikes! I'd definitely reach out to Auber about that - I wasn't worried with only a single contact block acting funky. I wonder if some cut up plastic from Tupperware or the like wouldn't hold up better than just hot glue.

    Multimeter recommendation

Lot of good input here - I won't argue against the value of a top-notch meter like a Fluke, but will say for troubleshooting needs around a hobby electric brewing operation they're overqualified. Most issues you'll run into can be sorted with a continuity test or by simply verifying voltage is...

    Bend ripple element

Which enclosure did you buy from ebay? I'm looking to install one of those same elements from brewhardware.com on my system.

    Auber NC switch blocks?

Ordered these exact same switches for my build and experienced a similar issue on one of my switch blocks. Playing around with a multimeter, I discovered if I flipped the switches aggressively, they operated just fine, but when I moved them with what I'd consider a normal amount of force, they...

No hose change on 3V2P- P&ID review

I set mine up in a simlar fashion, and used hoses with quick connects. Easy to clean at the end of brew day by cycling some PBW through everything and hanging the hoses up to dry. I love the idea of a hard piped system, but don't have the luxury of a dedicated brew space. Everything must be...

Strategy for swapping hoses and handling drips etc. ???

Just upgraded my 3 vessel eHERMS system to get rid of my hose changes. Managed to score a second pump on CL at a good price, but since all the second pump does is pump clean water I imagine a cheap pump like this one would work just as well. A few three way valves and two pumps made it fairly...

    Do I start over?

I think you should just make it a brew day policy to drink until the meter appears to be right side up :bott:

    Control Panel Wiring Check

Prior to powering everything up for the first time, I went over everything with my multimeter checking all my switches and ensuring I had a path to ground from the kettle body back to the ground pin on the power plug - I'm glad I did - found an issue with how I'd wired up the safe-start...

    Do I start over?

Good call - I did the same before powering mine up. Also grabbed my multimeter and confirmed I had continuity from kettle itself all the way back to the ground prong on my power cable before plugging it in for the first time.

    Control Panel Wiring Check

Powered it up this evening and am pleased to report that all the smoke stayed inside the electronics, where it belongs  Still waiting on a handful of parts, but hope to be brewing on it by the weekend!

    Do I start over?

You might consider moving the power feed for the meter to the hot bus so it is protected by the fuse. Also, it might be worthwhile to fuse the pumps and the controllers / meter separately. The controllers require significantly less amperage than the pumps do - I'd add a 1 amp or maybe even a...

Arduino Keg Sensor for Level, Temperature, and Pressure with Display

I'd be interested in this for sure - I'm just getting started researching options for monitoring keg levels. Adding temperature, pressure and notifications would incredible!
