    Ballast Point $15.99/6?!?

The Sculpin left a nasty after taste in my mouth. I've had most of the Ballast Point offerings and am not a fan. The exception would be their California Kolsch, that is a very nice beer. Oddly I think it is one of their cheapest as well.

This Really Annoys Me Pet Peeve Thread

Replacing cars isn't that energy efficient. It takes a lot of resources to build a car. That's my story and I'm sticking to it (says the guy driving a 1975 Land Cruiser). :D

How to get 240VAC in your kitchen without rewiring...

The fight and inconvenience of getting the insurance company to pay up on a claim. Typically adding and outlet does not require permits. Renovations are a whole other thing. A professional is not going to inspect work for free, minimum charges would be one hour plus travel time...

How to get 240VAC in your kitchen without rewiring...

Riiiight cause insurance companies never mind paying claims. Liability for negligence aside, do you really want to deal with the fight or the inconvenience?

How to get 240VAC in your kitchen without rewiring...

If you fail to have a licensed electrician do the work your insurance company will not cover any damages caused by a wiring fault. Just sayin.....

    What are you drinking now?

I'm trying to work my way through a batch of american ale I made that didn't come out great. It's still drinkable and better than the standard American twist off/pop top beers but not great.

    Stroh's .... PBR?

Most people keep the fridge around 36°F or lower, they are designed to run in that temp range. I think people prefer chest freezers because they are a single compartment and the shape is good for holding fermentors. If you found a Craigslist fridge it would work just fine. just locate the RTD...

    bottles from local bars

I buy my bottles filled then empty them. Luganitas labels come off the easiest. :D Consider the bottle as $0.50 plus shipping off each purchased full bottle. So $3+ off per six pack, craft brew cost about the same as crap brew looked at this way. Also friends who drink craft brews are usually...

    What makes a great brewday

I have to think about every step in brewing beer, focusing on the process frees my mind. I don't think about work, or finances, or the myriad of other daily distractions. Also I kind of like the ritual of preparing the equipment and materials, monitoring the process, and cleaning up. It is...
