    Man, I love Apfelwein

Where I live Aldi is just as cheap as samsclub on apple juice. I think it was under $20 for five gallons of juice and 4lbs brown sugar.

My english cider yeast was too old and the starter didn't work. My buddy just harvested yeast from his belgian IPA, do you guys think that would work well? I've already made a batch with montrache, but looking for something a little different.

Do you have a bottling bucket? Ideally you would transfer yoru wine to a bottling bucket. Then add dissolved sugar to the bottling bucket and stir well before bottling.

    Man, I love Apfelwein

Used a different champagne yeast this time almost had a blow off... I caught it in time and carefully removed some of it from the carboy to give a little more breathing room, and added new starsan to the airlock after cleaning it out. Did I make it too full? It was really close to as full as...

Starter for White Labs WLP775 English Cider Yeast?

Thank you. I will do this over the weekend hopefully.

    Man, I love Apfelwein

Can I fill the carboy as full with White Labs WLP775 English Cider Yeast as I did using the montrachet called for in this recipe? Or will it be a more foamy fermentation?

Starter for White Labs WLP775 English Cider Yeast?

Ok, brown sugar is in my recipe. Will I benefit from doing a starter in this situation compared to just pitching it into the carboy?

Starter for White Labs WLP775 English Cider Yeast?

I have some White Labs WLP775 English Cider Yeast, it's been in the fridge for 6 months. I should make a starter to use this I assume right? I've made edwort's recipe previously using montrachet dry yeast, wanted to try this stuff, but just am getting around to it now. If I do a starter...

Using cider instead of apple juice, any differences in process?

I made a batch of edwort's apfelwein and it was really good, but the champagne like flavor was really the part that I would like to get around. I bought some white labs liquid english cider yeast. Last time I used apple juice from aldi's, 2lbs brown sugar, and montrachet. This time I'd like to...

    Brooklyn Brewshop kits

I transfer my beer to a bottling bucket with a spigot in the bottom of it. Then attach a piece of siphon tubing with a bottle filler on the end of it. It is really easy this way http://www.midwestsupplies.com/bottling-bucket-with-spigot.html...

How many C02 tanks for 3 cornies?

Holy cow, I was given a huge tank, and I think it's pretty full right now. I don't have a tank pressure regulator on it yet, but this is good news as to how long it will last me! I also have a 5lb tank, maybe I'll fill that up as a backup supply, or in case I ever want to bring a keg somewhere.

Advice on faucet placement on my fridge/freezer

You know, that may have been best.... for some reason the thought didn't even cross my mind. You see so many through the door. Plus I'd have to figure out for certain that there were no lines through the side. Oh well, I've got it thorugh the door, up near the top. A little black handle would...

Leak in shank from nut on the inside of the keezer

Thanks for the visual! It confirmed that my order was right, just had a loose hose clamp!

Advice on faucet placement on my fridge/freezer

Thanks, I'll lay out my handle and see if it has to be awkwardly low. If not I'll mount it low enough. If it will, I'll try to rig up a bracket.

    Priming in Keg?

How long and what diameter is your serving line? The beer could be carbonated correctly, but foamy from too short a line.
