    Pellicle Photo Collection

yeah.... I am not sure what to think. In person its looks more powdery than fuzzy... but its a little too much like the stuff in the fridge of my first apartment. I guess I will give it another month or two and see what happens...

This is my first attempt at a Lambic. Its about 4 months into fermentation. I am using Wyeast 3278 - I've never had an infection is this right?

    Bottle bombs?

I wouldn’t wait. I had one bottle bomb. I then opened every bottle in the batch and 2/3 of them gushered. I dumped the batch assuming it had an infection.

    Temperature Issues Beyond Reason

Thank you for this. I've recently started using that same Taylor brand thermometer and my last few batches have been watery. Hey Manhappenin'! :ban: Had my first homebrew in Manhattan. Lived there for 14 years. KSU Alum. No Tall Grass when I was there, but Little Apple brewery tho. I also lived in Independence and Lawrence. I now live in the Seattle area, but I miss Kansas some days.:mug:

Anyone try one if these? pre made heat stick

The Marshalltown bucket heater is 17 inches long and the bottom 6 has to be submerged for it to operate. Of course it depends on the dimensions of your kettle as to how sharp of an angle you can get it to and therefore how much liquid is needed.

I used to use a Marshalltown bucket heater to supplement my gas stove. Works just fine. The only reason I don’t still use it is because I bit the bullet and added elements and got out of the kitchen.
