I don't like the thought of building a UDS or something because i'll never complete it. I do however see some basic "units" at Home Depot. Are any of these worth actually purchasing...
Ok. So unless theres a huge price difference I can just get the rheostat or a 2W pot. As much as I like to tinker sometimes its just nice to simplify things.....at first lol. I'm sure i'll mod it later and add some un-necessary features.

Hello EE's I have a question. I am planning on building a stir-plate and I am seeing designs with a rheostat and others with circuits that were built with a couple components.
Are there any differences/advantages/disadvantages in these designs?

I might get even more by then...i'm trying to stock up on base grains (i dont get to buy brewing stuff that much) so im trying to cover all of my bases so I can match them with specialty grains, yeast and hops.
Can hops be added this order too or is it just grain?
Well that decision is cutting two other people out of it as well. I think (if possible) we should give this another week or two to see how many pallets we are able to fill up. I'm not organizing it so I wouldn't be the one making that decision though.
Good. I still want in on it but I can't pull funds from anywhere else right now to cover it. They say it will only be a week later.. this will affect me bringing back grain to the Columbus area for anyone as well if I can't do it. Ill keep you updated.
