    Adding too much fruit?

Woo - sounds good. I definitely don't want it to be like grape juice.

    Adding too much fruit?

I've decided to experiment a little because my wife is on me to make a fruit beer. I split a 5 gallon batch of wheat beer into 2 2.5 gallon samples. I have a Blueberry Wheat and a "Tropical" Wheat (strawberry, mango, peach) going. My largest concern is I may have added too much...

Adding Yeast to Bottle, with Carbonation Drop, then recapping?

OG was only 1.06, yeast was Brewferm packaged yeast. I may not have aerated enough as it was the first time using a carboy. I think the plastic bucket approach is easier :)

Adding Yeast to Bottle, with Carbonation Drop, then recapping?

It was a definite mistake on my end. I shouldn't have, but it was stagnant for over a week at the same FG (albeit high) so I decided to bottle. I've posted several times in another thread regarding this. Many thought I should have warmed the temp to try to kick start it again - so I did (to...

Adding Yeast to Bottle, with Carbonation Drop, then recapping?

Hey all, Have this darn tripel that I probably didn't aerate enough and I cannot get it lower than 1.022. I recenty capped the bottles, but then had second thoughts so I slightly cracked each cap to avoid bottle bombs. It is still at same FG so I think fermentation is done. To get...

Did I make a mistake in bottling this?

Quick update - and I need some advice. I checked gravity again and it is the same as the last picture - roughly 1.020 with a temp of 77. So, should be around 1.022. It's been here for a couple days. Is it safe to say the yeast is done (I'm thinking maybe I didn't aerate enough - it was the...

    Fermenter about to blow?

I brewed up an Export Stout yesterday (1.059). Today I get home and the blow off tube is working as expected - about a bubble every 2 seconds. However, my lid looks very convexted (new word?). I would expect this if the blow tube were clogged. When I push on the lid, more bubbles shoot up...

Did I make a mistake in bottling this?

OK - so I go to check the FG again after 48 hours in the chamber @78-79. All bottles have been slightly uncapped, however my hydro sample is spitting up bubbles from the bottom. Huh? Carbonated already? Even without a tight seal? Yikes. How will this affect my Hydro reading? The...

Did I make a mistake in bottling this?

I'm thinking of just letting them ferment out then use the Carbonation drops by Coopers.

Did I make a mistake in bottling this?

Update on my progress... Bottles were slightly uncapped to vent. Fermentation Chamber has been at 79 for 24 hours. Bottles have formed this little "mini-krausen" in them. This seems like it is a good thing? Thoughts? I don't have a picture but it's like the krausen of a fermenter on a...

Another High FG...but I already bottled?

Any word on how this turned out? I bottled a Belgian Tripel yesterday at 1.028 that had been stuck for a week, thinking it was done. This FG was obtained AFTER 3 ounces of priming sugar was added. This is also for a 2.5 gallon batch. I'm trying to discern if I have a potential situation on...

Did I make a mistake in bottling this?

Still thinking about my potential bombs - I have another question regarding my FG. I took this sample (same pic as page 1) after I added 3 ounces corn sugar for priming. Also, sample was at about 66 degrees. Does this change anyone's opinion of the quality of this FG? It's been stalled for a...

    Using Carbonation Drops

Yeah, I think you are right. Better not to risk it anyway. OG was 1.07...I have my bottles vented for now back in the chamber at a higher temp (77). Before it never exceeded 70. I thought that would have been OK but I've read lately about the Belgian style needing the warmer temps.

    Using Carbonation Drops

Well, my FG is around 1.03. That is the main reason. It's been there for about a week...I assumed it was done but many other posters say there is no way. Long story short, I bottled and now am concerned about the ensuing explosions. I think 3.3 is perfectly acceptable and even preferred...
