Guys.
This recipe looks stellar, I am thinking about subbing the normal 2-row for the NB Maris Otter LME. A little over 6lbs. What do y'all think?
I can't wait to get all of these ingredients and get started!
Thanks again Yooper. I really appreciate it. I have become brew addicted over the past couple weeks. My bank account can tell you all about it. I want to add some malt to the front end of this recipe. I did the ol' pour half in, wait till close to the end and pour the rest of it in... I might do...
Yoop. You the best. Thanks so much for your response. The idea behind shaking it was... Shake it to let the CO2 absorb, then unhook the lines for 8-10 hours so I wouldn't be tempted to make foamy beer. Then release the pressure and hook it up at 12psi.
On another note. I posted my recipe for...
Alright Guys. I need your help. As much as I can get. I am new to brewing and new to kegging. I decided to go all out from the start. I have purchased the beginnings of a keezer, got a CO2 tank, two kegs. Newbs paradise.
I have an IPA in the keg. Let it cool down and then read around on here...
Thanks WDT. This might be my first brew. But, I've been researching beers since I was old enough (or not old enough) to enjoy them. There are some things that I'd like to do more "precise" the next time, but the first time was just fun. And yeah, I'm excited to learn a ton.
Love the West...
:fro: I appreciate you allowing for my artistic flow. I also appreciate the many ideas that I am taking from this. I'm super-excited about this beer regardless. So I can Cold Crash, (then put it in secondary and dry-hop), or Cold Crash and Keg. Man, this is quickly becoming much better than PBS...
I figured I might get punched in the face. I added the Centennial more like 35 mins, I know thats not a huge difference. I put the last half of malt in at the end as well. I'm taking notes WDT and appreciate the input.
I knew going into it, it was a risk. If it's good, I'll send you one. If...
Just wanted to update y'all from last time.
I took all the suggestions I got and reformulated the recipe.
8lbs Light LE
.5lb Rye
.5lb Caramel 60
2oz Cascade @ 60
2oz Centennial @ 45
2oz Cascade @15
Add a little yeast and it's been sitting for 1 week. It's my first one, but I have...
Changed it to light...
OG FG IBU SRM ABV
1.073 1.018 56.5 15.66 7.20
Took the ABV up considerably... still need to know what the minutes on the hops... 15 mins = adding at the last 15 minutes? or what?
Probably a stupid question but I appreciate all the help!
Duboman... do you mean that the beer will be good! or sweet as in sugar sweet?
So Crystal Malts at 5-10% in your opinion... What do I need to change? Just the Sparkling Amber to the light?
Thanks so much for your help.
I wanted to put this out there and see what some of you seasoned vets think about my recipe... just from the sound. Am I buying anything for no reason? I call it... the IPA and a Half. The ingredients are listed... Comments are appreciated! Let me know if you would do anything to change it up...
