thanks! that's precisely what I did. I used the .5 of cascade to add a few pellets at a time from 55 min to 35 minutes, with about .2 added at 45 min. Hopefully it turns out well!

so I have a listermann Ipa kit, and I was putting the ingredients into Beer Smith, and Listermann's claims the recipe will yield 72 IBU's. Beer smith is saying it will only have 53. Could this be due to beer smith not having listermann's bulk canadian malt extract in it's data base? I used pale...

anyone ever use or try to use an infrared thermometer to measure the temperature of their mash/wort? I was curious if it would measure correctly, or if it would be off because it would just measure the top? And then would it even be practical since it wouldn't be a constant reading?

So one of my good friends is allergic to hops. I didn't know this was even possible until I met her. So my question is what is the best recipe you have come across that doesn't use any hops? It would be best to stay away from the heavier styles, and can be extract, all grain, whatever. Thanks!
