Will LME pour through a bottling bucket tap?

Guess there's only one way to find out. Worst comes to worst I dip it out with a ladle or something lol.

Will LME pour through a bottling bucket tap?

OK so I am considering getting this: https://supplies.homebrew4less.com/collections/liquid-malt-extract-lme/products/briess-golden-light-3-3-lb-canister-single-can?variant=33600076483 Basically a 5 gallon bucket of LME. Anyways, I was thinking to dispense it I would pour it into a bottling...

    I hate WY1968. What's wrong with me?

I've made three beers with this yeast, and I absolutely hate the character it gives. Hate the smell. Hate the taste. Hate its very soul. Wish I could punch its smug little Brit face. Am I alone here because I am seeing nothing but good things about it?

    Black Treacle vs Blackstrap Molasses

Good to hear from the patient people that this may age well. I'm shelving it for at least 6 months, maybe a year, which is not a problem since I have no desire to drink it right now.

    Autumn Seasonal Beer Punkin' Ale

Hey no problem, the base of this beer is very good and very versatile. Plug it into a recipe calculator (I like brewersfriend), plug in your hops and adjust it to your tastes. You can't go wrong with this one.

    Alba Scots Pine Ale

Haha I love your note at the end, and I think that's how I'll go with it. Not to nag you about it, but how did you deal with the pine needles? Were they young/new growth? Did you grind them up somehow or just throw them in whole?

    Black Treacle vs Blackstrap Molasses

Update: I did side by side batches as follows. Only difference was 6 oz Blackstrap Molasses in one vs 8 oz black treacle in the one below: Boil = 90 min 9 lb Light DME 8 oz Black Treacle (5 min) 8 oz Victory Malt 3.3 oz C120 3.4 oz Belgian De-Bittered Black Malt 6.6 oz C60 .9 oz...

    Alba Scots Pine Ale

Resurrecting this thread to see if RevA would be willing to post recipe/process...Story time - 10 years or so ago me and my friend were obsessed with Alba Scots Pine Ale, but it was soooo expensive, and we had to get a liquor store to special order it. It just wasn't working. I had just started...

    Autumn Seasonal Beer Punkin' Ale

It's a pretty standard grain bill for a pale ale. Just get rid of the brown sugar, pumpkin, and spices. Move the 60 min hallertauer addition to 20 min, keep the 5 min hallertauer, and add a bittering hop of your choice at 60 min to bring it up to 35-40 IBU.

    Effed up brew sessions?

Everything went as planned today, even hit my OG right on the money (1.062). One problem, I had just shy of 6 gal of wort rather than the 5.25 gal I was shooting for. Who cares, more beer for me right? Well, since I have a 6 gal carboy, I decided to use a blowoff hose. Well my idea of a blowoff...

Best way to emulate munich malt?

Agree 100% but I'm pretty lazy. I used to brew all grain but it became too much hassle and I didn't enjoy it. So I quit for a few years and then started back up with extract. 50# bag of DME cost me $140, so at $2/lb for grain at my LHBS cost comes out about the same. Of course you sacrifice a...

Best way to emulate munich malt?

I have a 50 lb bag of light DME, so that's the base for everything right now. So basically i'm trying to make 7 lbs of DME taste like 11 or 12 lbs of munich. I know it's not gonna be the same, just looking to get close. Yooper any ideas on how much aromatic to use?

Six year old homebrew... not terrible

Me & a friend each got a six pack of Westvleteren 12 when they sold it in the US on 12/12/12. We get together each year and drink one. Haven't gotten together yet this year, so i guess the oldest I've drank was 3 years old. It seems to get better every year.

Best way to emulate munich malt?

I'm looking for a way to emulate munich malt in an extract brew with just steeping grains and light dme. I don't want to do a mini mash or BIAB. It doesn't have to be spot on, just in the ballpark, even in the parking lot of the ballpark works. My best guesses for the specialty grains are...
