What is the big advantage to not having to rinse? I use star San but I always rinse anyway. It just seems strange to me to leave any residue in a bucket or carboy. Am I defeating the sanitization by rinsing? I've never had any problems with my procedures but maybe I need to get over my fear...

Has anyone connected a wort chiller to a sink with only a sprayer attachment. When I unscrew the sprayer the female adapter looks to be about 5/8 inside diameter. Thinking I might be out of luck. Maybe run a garden hose inside. Also, is stainless steel or copper preferred for a wort chiller?

I use a 5 gallon bucket for primary. How do you draw your hydrometer samples? Do you just scoop some out with a sterilized cup? Turkey baster? Seems like there should be a better instrument to draw a sample....
