A few questions about auto siphons.
1. How long will they last?
2. Does the seal need some kind of food grade greese?
3. Would you recommend a 1/2" over a 5/16" Auto Siphon?
4. What are the bad things to consider?
Thanks for any information you can provide.

Mythbusters on Discovery Channel did an episode on the fastest method to cool a sixpack. The coldest/fastest was ice, water, and salt. It got down to about 25 deg. F. Maybe a mason jar in an ice/water/salt bath. Haven't tried this so take it with a grain of salt. LOL.

I agree with Sparky. I picked up a 7.5 gal. turkey fryer for $40 at Bi-mart. I don't know the btu rating but it takes about 30 minutes to boil 5.5 - 6 gal.
Good Luck,
Waterville is on Hwy 2 about 25 miles NE of Wenatchee. One of the difficulties around here is the lack of homebrew shops. So far I've baught supplies/ingredients from Spokane and Seattle. I have just learned of a possible shop in Moses Lake though.

Hello from Washington State. I'm pretty new to brewing and am not very good at it yet. I'm looking forward to reading all of the good information on HBT and posting the problems I've encountered. Cheers
