    Best Bitter English P.A.

+1 on wanting some tasting notes on this! Also, what do you think about using Maris Otter extract?

How to get the most flavor out of your fruit additions?

I'm aiming for 6 gallons final volume so I might start with 5.5 gallons of unflavored beer and add 10 lbs of frozen raspberry, I want very strong raspberry flavor, and finally, some raspberry candi syrup at kegging; I'm guessing that 10lbs of raspberry will get me to 6 gallons. I'm planning to...

How to get the most flavor out of your fruit additions?

Hmm. I might go for 10 lbs of raspberry then, and maybe some raspberry flavoring or some raspberry syrup at bottling, or both.

How to get the most flavor out of your fruit additions?

I'm making a raspberry wheat ale with about 50/50 Pilsen and wheat. To not overpower the fruit, I'm using only 1 oz of Hallertau hops at 60. My question is about how to get as much fruit flavor into the beer without producing any weird off flavors. When planning this recipe, I looked at a...

    Preparing fruit for beer.

If your looking for a really simple no fail way to sterilize your fruit, you can mush it up/puree it then add vodka and let sit for a few minutes. If you weren't using peach, I would just soak the fruit whole in the liquor then crush.

    Long Trail Ale Clone Help

I was thinking of using this as a base for a raspberry fruit beer, since I happen to have all the ingredients already. Do you think that would go good with this recipe? I would probably change the hop regiment completely, but this actually looks like it would be a nice, slightly maltier base...

Making English Bitter- Need Help With Malt Selection

I was thinking that, but I was afraid that MO would be too sweet and or too dark with the malts I'm planning on using. I may try that if they carry MO LME or DME at my LHBS.

Making English Bitter- Need Help With Malt Selection

I was thinking that too about the MO. Do you recommend dropping that 8oz of malt completely, or maybe replace it with something else? Crystal 40 Perhaps? To be honest, I don't have any experience with Fuggle besides that it looked like it had an interesting flavor profile. Is there a beer...

Making English Bitter- Need Help With Malt Selection

Target OG 1.046 Target FG 1.010 I will probably reduce Wheat DME even more to try to get the OG down to around 1.040 or so.

    Best Bitter International Fuggles Bitter

Sounds interesting. A few years later, do you have any more thought on this like what would you do different or the same? Would you still change the hop profile?
