Can guinea pigs eat spent grains?

Sure you can. Their system might need the roughage. Remember though, there is minimal nutritional value remaining in the spent grains, depending on your efficiency, cause you already mashed them out. Those sugars you extracted are the same carbs your pets want.

    Turkey Fryer Question(s)

Well, you may still need a couple of large pots when you switch to all grain, so the aluminum pot with the turkey fryer could be used to heat sparge water, so it would not go to waste. If you don't need the burner perhaps you could just find a good sized kettle. If that doesn't fit your...

    Turkey Fryer Question(s)

I purchased a turkey fryer and the pot works ok, and I know of no problems with using the aluminum pot for brewing. It is a bit small for 5 gallons of boiling wort, as mine is about 6 gallons and doesn't leave a lot of room, so gotta watch closely for boil overs. The burner was ok, not great...

    Efficiency is horrible

Ok, so you got low efficiency. Sounds like your temperature was too low to start with and I suspect never go to where you wanted it to be. You got some great tips here, but I went through the same thing last week with my first all grain and once I got a good gravity reading added DME to bring...

    All Grain Help

Well, three pounds it is, (already done it), so i guess it will be ok. Yes i am understanding I should better match my sparge volumes to the volumes I want to end up with. It seems so obvious after the fact, but live and learn. I had trouble finding an appropriate straining device, but...

    All Grain Help

Hi guys, I have tried my second all grain and I can see there is a lot I don't know. The first attempt was a brew in a bag, still in the primary, but no probems noted, other that it was pretty messy to do in the kitchen. My attempt last night was with a converted round gott 5 gallon cooler...

Easy Stovetop All-Grain Brewing (with pics)

Thanks for the quick response, I thought about possible contamination after I posted, but it was great for your quick response/confirmation. I am limited on space and have dreams of all-grain and your method sounds great. Thanks again, Rick

Easy Stovetop All-Grain Brewing (with pics)

DeathBrewer and/or any others, question: What do you believe would be the effect of following your method up to the point of heating the sparge water to 175, but at this point using 2 gallons of cold water, just dipping the grain bag and then draining it out? I expect we might lose some...

    Country Music? (McKBrew's musical evolution)

Hey, Bird, I just saw Neko Case out in Reno a couple of weeks ago, great show. Rick

    Country Music? (McKBrew's musical evolution)

Hey Mike, thanks for the Haysee Dixie post. Maybe a joke, but I will bite. Hayseed Dixie ahs a couple of albums that are pretty cool. One is hayseed doing all ACDC songs and it is really good, hearing I got Big Balls by those guys is great. Another is called Kiss My Grass, a bluegrass...

    Celtics Lakers

Man, what a blow out! On the upside, I made $50 on the game. The line was -4.5 points for the Celtics, I guess LA money was sure Kobe would pull it out, but not so much. Rick

    Gas!

I agree EdWort, this will just add to the costs of fuel, and will do nothing else. My thoughts on "the US paying artificially low fuel prices" is to compare the US to Walmart. Walmart is a hell of a big company selling goods worldwide. The tell their suppliers the prices that they will pay...
