I'm not sure of the brand...I threw away the package...it was listed as "Ale Yeast" I think it was Safle - 21 or something like that...does that ring a bell?
That's cool. I just started brewing to. I bought a ton of stuff for my first brew...until I brewed and bottled I thought I might have went overboard. Now I've got to buy more stuff to get me through the summer...and the stuff is so cool, how you help not wanting a kegerator even if you have...
Brewing my second batch now. Yellow Dog Ale...it just stopped fermenting...after 2 days...is that normal for 80 degrees?
The first batch seems alright...did the same thing.
That's because this is the secondary fermenter. I transfered right after it was still. Didn't do that great of a job keeping the troupe out of my siphon hose but it's better than nothing.
Check out these shots of my first brewed batch ever.
Don't you just love the color of this mix?
Yellow Dog Ale is in my primary fermenter right now. I'm experimenting with ice to lower the temp of my wort. I have a hard time keeping it below 80 but the ice filled about 3 inches of a 5...
Good idea on the cheap cooler solutions. Either way the foam for the vents on the floor or the cooler with Ice dumped in would work. I'm in GA and if I want to brew this summer I've got to do something. It's just May and it's already hot as can be.
