Sat. Nov. 13th.
The kids are going to Grandma's! I'm going to brew a PM IPA. I'll smoke something for a late lunch. I'm thinking beef brisket sandwiches. We would love to have you join us.
Don't worry about the weather. I have plenty of room inside and room for 4 to brew in the garage.
If you did a good job sanitizing the container your water is in and you have it covered you will be fine.
You killed all the bugs. A day or two isn't gonna hurt ;)

Thanks HH and to Zee.
You are gracious hosts and sure do know how to have an awesome time.
The beer and the food were awesome. Rachels pasta was so simple and elegant. Troy's ribs, the obvious work of a dedicated perfectionist.
And you all can make great beer. It was a pleasure...
Im in for sure!!! Jen and I only have the babysitter hurdle to clear. At this point its just a matter of who gets to take the kids, not that we can't find one.
As for bacon wrapped, I was planning on bringing my bacon wrapped stuffed jalepenos again this year.
I will be brewing.....don't...
75% chance of Jen and I making it.
If we can we will be tenting it weather permitting. The motel we stayed in last year was.......difficult to get undressed in....even after a FULL day of :drunk:
There is a Partial Mash Recipe posted that is nearly spot on.
It's called Ugly Fish by MStev50.
I have made this recipe 4 times. 3 times w/ WL Cal Ale and once with US-05. Not much of a discernable difference in the two. Both yeasts are very clean fermenting yeasts.
I think the proprietary...
Recipe is not as important as the equipment and method you are using to measure ABV%.
I'm guessing you have taken the final reading as how much alcohol there is.
What you need to do is take a reading after the boil, before you add yeast.
Then after fermentation take a reading.
Subtract...
If anything you'll get mild bubbling. As long as you didn't have a stuck fermentation for some reason, which is unlikely.
I bet that carboy looks purdy;)
Im not a fan of this beer. There is something in the flavor, that I am not sophisticated enough to put my finger on, that doesn't appeal to me. It's a flavor also found in Lagunitas IPA.
I wanna call it Black Licorice but thats not quite correct.
Is there such a thing as too much?
Make this one and see how you like it. Then next time you brew adjust the schedule slightly and see how it affects the end result.
Black Pipe is required to be painted when used outdoors. Rust-Oleum in a pint can works great. I use my hand inside a neoprene glove inside a cotton glove to do the job. One coat passes inspection, two coats if it was my brew rig.
