    Homebrew Stores in Cleveland/Youngstown/Pittsburgh?

My wifes parents live just outside of akron and I was telling her dad about this thread and hoppin frog. He had heard of the place but not been there yet. He went today and bought a case of their pumpkin ale. Now we need to make a trip to akron so I can try some. He said when he walked in...

    Tap A Draft Cooler?

Has anyone ever constructed a Tap A Draft cooler? Could the tap be mounted on the outside of the cooler? Would the pickup tube be long enough? I was thinking of trying this so I could transport my brew and keep it cold. Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated.

I had to look it up to remember where it was at but we've also gone to Leeners in Northfield.

    Homebrew Stores in Cleveland/Youngstown/Pittsburgh?

If in Akron I would definitely visit Grape and Granary. Great selection and very knowledgeable staff. Don't know of any brewpubs to visit though. I'll have to ask my father-in-law if he knows of any since he lives up there.

Long Time Lurker, First Time Poster - Pittsburgh, PA

Here we go Steelers! Welcome. Used to love going to Pittsburgh when I lived back home (Wheeling area). Now in Columbus, Ohio. Want to try and make it over for a Pens game this year to see the new arena. I'm fairly new to homebrewing and love this site. Lots of great info.

    LHBS Prices... Why So Expensive?

Here in Columbus, Ohio we have a few shops. I was doing most of my shopping at the closest one to me but this past weekend I found a new one about 30 minutes away which i'll be switching to. The price difference and staff knowledge will be worth the extra driving. After talking to the owner...

Good weekend had to end sometime

Had a great weekend with the in-laws visiting. Both my father-in-law and I had brews to try, watched some football, shot some clay, fixed the truck and found a new beer store/brew shop to visit. Grandparents got to spoil their granddaughter. Weather went from 90s to 60s in a couple days...

    Football and Brews

Somehow when one of us tries something the other follows suit. Good way to see what works and what we like I guess. These will be our first batches we have made in a while. Good to be back into it. Since I don't have cable we'll have to hit a bar to watch some of the games. Just don't look...

    Football and Brews

Good weekend coming up. The start of college football season and my father in law and I both have brews to try. He'll be here visiting and is bringing some of his raspberry ipa and corona clone and I have a peach blonde ale. To bad he'll wanna drag me somewhere to watch Ohio State.

New to the brew. Hilliard, OH

Thanks for the welcome guys. My wifes dad, who got into brewing with me, is in northeast Ohio. Last time we went up for a visit he and I went to the Grape and Granary in Akron. Great store, a couple years back we went to an awesome class for beginners there.

New to the brew. Hilliard, OH

My wife and I just did a Christmas Ale that's soon to be bottled. We started with Mr. Beer a couple years ago and did a few but I decided to go all in and bought the big boy brewing equipment. Still amassing my brewing arsenal.
