    Foundation Brewing Epiphany Clone

So, on that page from BYO, for the partial mash recipe, it says "Remove the grain bag and wash with 2 qts (2 L) hot water." I don't understand this. Are they saying to rinse off the grain bag in a separate volume of water, and the resulting water to be used for topping off? I've always thought...

    Foundation Brewing Epiphany Clone

I just finished a can of this, and it definitely said the FG was 1.009, but I wonder if earlier batches might have been higher. A good friend of mine makes trips up there pretty regularly, and Foundation is one of his must-do stops. He saved this last can of Epiphany for me, since I was coming...

    Northern English Brown Ale

This is my first experience with it. I think I'll try one of the liquid yeasts mentioned above. At this point, I'm having more fun with the experimentation than the actual drinking of the beer :)

    Northern English Brown Ale

Very interesting, thank you! I really am new to this, so my hop choices are really just a shot in the dark. I had this idea that I should stick with all UK ingredients if it's supposed to be a true Northern English Brown Ale. I realize this might be silly :) When you say things like using...

    Northern English Brown Ale

I'm not a fan... it's "ok", I guess... but has a bit of a weird aftertaste to it. Back to the drawing board, I guess.

    Northern English Brown Ale

Hello all... after getting great results with my first ever brew last Spring, I'm finally getting around to another one. As of this past Saturday, I've got a nice Northern English Brown Ale in the primary, bubbling away. I'm very glad I went with a blow-off for this one, as it got a bit rowdy in...

    Double IPA Heavenscent IIPA

Zoinks! 12% :mug: I've read through a lot of this thread, and this is definitely going to be my next batch. Can't wait to try it!

    Another new brewer

So, I've been meaning to follow up on this thread. My first batch finished 4 weeks of bottle conditioning (two weeks ago), and I'm thrilled with the result! I was expecting OK beer... but not something this good. I love it! It's an extract recipe similar to Blue Moon, but a bit stronger...

    Another new brewer

Funny... this is exactly what the guy at the local homebrew supply shop said to me when I bought all my gear. I'm lucky to have a good shop in the neighborhood, and there's some really helpful and knowledgeable brewers working there. Awesome place.

    Another new brewer

Hello all... I've been a lurker here for a while, as I've been learning and getting ready for my first attempt at home brewing. I just finished Charlie Papazian's first book last week, and I started my first batch yesterday - a Belgian Wit. Right now, it's happily bubbling away in the primary :)...
