Lots of Dextrose Left Over After Primary Fermentation

When I added the dextrose to the compote and water mixture the water was already boiling hot which would have dissolved most of it, no? Bearing that in mind, should I try to restart fermentation? If so, how do I go about that?

Lots of Dextrose Left Over After Primary Fermentation

Hey guys, I'm making 5 gal of Bluberry Country wine using the following recipe: 8.8 lbs of Blueberry compote (100% Blueberry) 8.75 lbs Dextrose 7.5 tsp Acid Blend 2.5 tsp Pectic 2.5 tsp Energizer 5 Campden Tabs 1 Montrechet Yeast Started the brew on June 10th in a bucket and transferred it to...

    Man, I love Apfelwein

Second batch is now a month old in the secondary. Still zero activity as far as bubbling goes and my hyrdrometer shifts in the wine thief whenever I try to take a measurement. It seems to drift up to around 1.070. Initial gravity reading was 1.075 so I don't think all of the sugars have been...

    Man, I love Apfelwein

I just racked my most recent batch of Apfelwein after 12 days in the primary. Is that too early? Did I lose any yeast by racking at that point? If so, is there any way to salvage this batch or am I just screwed?

    Strawberry Wine Progress/Quantity Discrepancy

Very insightful advice. On the note of sucrose over dextrose- what exactly is the difference between the two with regards to brewing? I used dextrose because I previously made an Apfelwein (from this recipe) and had some leftover. I am relatively new to brewing so I wasn't aware of any major...

    Man, I love Apfelwein

Well, I just remeasured the gravity today and it looks like somehow I got it wrong yesterday. I'm using a "Thief" product to take samples out of my carboys and I suspect the bottom of it leaked too much product yesterday without my knowing. According to my measurements taken just now, I'm...

    Man, I love Apfelwein

I used 2 lb of dextrose per batch and just under 5 gallons of apple juice per batch as well. I used the following yeast- https://www.amazon.com/dp/B074KC2J34?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2_dt_b_product_details Is that the right kind? I also have some yeast nutrient. Would adding that to the batches now do...

    Man, I love Apfelwein

Hi all. First time posting, first time brewing. New to the game. I started brewing three 5-gallon batches of Apfelwein on 4/22 of this year. As this was my first time brewing I did not take an initial gravity reading. I bottled the first batch on 5/22 of this year, exactly a month since...
