What have you guys found as the best long term method to seal/pot the heat stick so it doesn't leak? I used JB weld on the outside of the screw on connection and it failed after one yr.
I am sure you are familar with the protein clumps that form during the boil of an all grain batch. I have had a few recent batches that didn't have this coagulation occur. The beer ended up having some creamy flavors that I wasn't looking for. I am not sure if this is from the lack of...
I am brewing the samiclause clone today from the receipe in clonebrews. The question I have is what yeast do I use for the champain yeast? The receipe calls for Wyeast munich larger for the initial ferment and then a champain yeast for the final ferment, but doesn't specify what yeast to use...
I have a white film covering the top of my imperial stout in the secondary. What is this and can it be stopped? Will it affect the beer. What caused this issue?
i am using the 3463 yeast to make a cream ale that I intend to add vanilla beans for flavoring in the secondary. Has anyone tried this before and know how well this yeast will work for this application?

I found the problem it was the GFI wiring. The electrician ran the neutral through the breaker when I am not using it. Disconnected this and everything is working good.
capped off at the wall plug in. I only have three prong outlets.
Does anyone else know if anything on my wiring schematic would be causing the GFI to flip?
this is showing you how to wire up a 240V gfi running all four of the wires (2 hots, neutral, and ground). I am wondering if it needs to be hooked up differently if you just run the two hots and ground.
Anyone else have an opinion?
I see and then the neutral pigtails on the GFIs are then connected to the neutal bar in the panel.
Are you running just the two hots and ground to your brew rig or all four two hots, ground, and neutral?
just to confirm both the neutal pigtails from the GFI and the neutrals from the incoming wires for the 30 amp circuits into your breaker box are both connected to the neutral bar in the breaker box?
ie there are no neutral wires connected to the terminals on your GFI breakers in the breaker box?
